Me and my friend came up with some house rules the other day, and i figured here would be the place to show 'em off, and get some criticizm!

Alot of these are, in an orky fashion, looted from Dawn of war 2, but i hope that's ok.

Here goes:

New Upgrades:

Lootas: Beamy Deffgun, S9 AP2 R48 Heavy 1. 25p. Can only have one of these per 5 lootas/meks. In every loota-box there is one deffgun that kidna looks like a big laser gun. I figured that could be the beamy one.

Big Mek: Mega Rumblah, all models within 6+D6'' takes a S1 ap- hit that ignores cover. The models must take a pinning test on a LD of 7. (This represents that the ground shakes, and the models start fallin to da ground, not that the ground shakes and they all get scared.)
Models with Slow & Purpouseful ignores this. 20p.

Big Mek: Boom Time. At death, roll a dice. At 3+, all the explosive charges and gubbinz he is carrying with him explode. Place a large blast on top of him with S5 AP4. This does not scatter. 20p

Trukk Paint Jobs: Yellow (For buying the best gunz) the weapon gets twinlinked. Blue (For looting the best armor) the trukk gains front & side armor 11. And finally Black (For having as much boyz as possible) increases the transport cap from 12 to 14 models. These three and the red one can NOT be combined with each other. 10p for each paint job.

Deffkopta Snatchin' Klaw. Choose an enemy model with a 25mm base (the small ones, used for common boyz, tacticals, guardians etc.) that the kopta has passed over in its movement phase. That model must take an initiative test. If it fails, the model takes a wound, representing that the kopta picks him up, flies high up and drops him to the ground. Afterwards the model lands beside the kopta. If the model lands in any kind of terrain, it is removed from play if it fails whatever save it has. 10p. (this one can be useful to force the enemy unit to go into coherency, and generally its just supposed to create some mayhem and be kinda funny.)

Moar powers for the wierdboy: A wierdboy with the warphead upgrade has access to more psychic powers. When rolling for which power to use, roll a 12-side dice. (I know, this is a little bit wierd, and everyone may not have a 12-side dice, but come on. ''House rules'', remember?)
Power 1-6 are normal. 7= Warp Vomit. Range 12, S3 AP- Pinning Big Blast. No scatter. 8=Over 'dere!: Choose a friendly infantry unit within 6''. Then choose a direction and move the unit 6+D6'' that way. This counts as running. 9=Hide da boyz!: Any chosen allied infantry unit gains Stealth special rule for the next turn. 10=Kult of Speed: One chosen allied vehicle must drive 6'' more than usual, but it counts as it moves a normal distance. When doing this, it counts as driving through dangerous terrain. If the test fails, the vehicle must still mvoe the entire distance. 11=Foot of Gork: 1 large blast, range unlimited, S8 AP3 Barrage. 12=Hand of Mork: Choose any enemy infantry model. That model scatters away 3D6''. At the spot where it was before, resolve one S6 AP5 Blast that doesn't scatter.

And finally, a new unit: Grot Turret.
This is a Big Gun, and has the Artillary special rule. It is 2 Big shootas with BS2. It can't have any ammo runts, or any krew. (The grot that controlls it is inside a can or something, so it can't be targeted.) It costs only 15p.

There they are! Please tell me what you think of them!

Within 6+D6 inches of what?

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

The Mek. Thses aren't properly written rules, like you would find in a codex, just worded because he assumes everyone will understand.

Hahaha badass I love it. Perhaps taken in the fashion of heavy weapons teams like Imperial Guard? Each unit of boys may take a unit of up to 3 turrets? Separate unit from boys but together counts as one troops choice?

I also imagine the little green buggers could pick up the can and run a little bit, like in the cartoons?

if not, oh well looks fun as hell

A little change: Double 6 on the SAG should be AP1 when firing on vehicles.

Bommaboyz: instead of executing a stormboy, Zagstruk straps on some explosives and sends the cowardly runt in the general direction of the enemy.
Roll a dice. on a 2+ place a blast marker over an enemy unit within 12" the blast scatters 3D6" and has a strength of 6 and a AP of -
However if a 1 is rolled, the stormboy explodes instantly! Place the blast on a stormboy of your choice (in the relevant squad)

Just one quick thing; is there anyone who agrees with me that Csm should be able to use thunder hammers (or daemon mauls, or other suitable replacements) and storm shields? Sure, the Legions maybe did not use these, but many traitor marines are in fact recently enlightened and it does not make sense to throw away one's wargear just because of that, now does it?

I agree, the lack of thunder hammers and storm shields for csm is annoying.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys! Here follows two new sargeants:

Boss ''Burntfingahs''

WS 4 BS 2 S4 T4 W2 Ld 8 I3 A3 SV 4+

Wargear: Da Flamin' Deff S5 AP 4 Twin-Linked, Eavy Armor

Upgrades: Oiler Grots 10p (up to 3) For each grot, da boss can, once per turn, fire his weapon and use it as a power weapon in CC.

Special rules: Furious Charge, Mob Rule, Waaagh!

This guy is an upgrade to Burna Boyz, just like Zagstruk or Snikrot. He costs 90p.

Boss ''Blitzagga''

WS 4 BS 2 S4 T4 W2 Ld 8 I3 A3 SV 4+

Wargear: Rokkit Launcha, Bomb squig, Tankhammer, Eavy Armor

Special Rules: Furious Charge, Mob Rule, Waaagh!, Tank Hunter, Glory Hog, ''Hog, but not a fool''

Hog, but not a fool: The boss, just like his smaller brethren, finds great joy in ''bustin' up da wagonz''. But he is not stupid. He knows his weapons capabilities and is able to keep the boyz in the line. A Tankbuster unit with him in it rolls a D6 in the beginning of their movement phase. On a 4+, the Glory Hogs special rule is negated for that turn.

He costs 90p

The burning pits of Hades, also known as Sweden in summer

Here is my edit of the CSM codex:

Added the Heretic Squad to the Troops section.

All chaos vehicles can now equip Icons. The effects are following:
Slaanesh
Choose: +1 initiative (if the vehicle has a WS characteristic) or able to move an additional 1" per turn without penalties. 10 pts.
Khorne
Choose: +1 attack (if the vehicle has a WS characteristic) or inflict an additional D6 S6 hits when ramming or tank shocking. 15 pts
Nurgle
The vehicle gains +1 Armor Value on all sides. 50 pts.
Tzeentch
Choose: One of your ranged weapons gain +1 S, or the vehicle receives a 5+ invulnerable save. 25 pts

The Chaos Terminators, Chaos lords and and chaos sorcerers (provided they have terminator armor) can now equip a Storm Shield instead of a ranged weapon. Storm shield gives a 3+ invulnerable save and renders you unable to gain +1 attack from having 2 close combat weapons. A squad with an Icon of Tzeentch cannot equip storm shields. The storm shield costs 15 points.

Additionally, Chaos terminators and chaos lords can now equip a Daemon Maul instead of a melee weapon for 15 pts. Daemon Mauls follow all the rules for Thunder Hammers in the WH40k rulebook.

All chaos infantry units, with the exception of Heretics, now gains he Will of Chaos special rule.
Will of Chaos: units with this special rules automatically passes morale checks to regroup, regardless of normal conditions with the exception of the distance to enemies. Models with this special is immune to Sweeping advances. If it is caught in a sweeping advance, it will instead take armor saves as detailed in the No Retreat! rule.

The Chaos Land raider gains the Daemon Spirit special rule. This allows it to fire one more weapon than would normally be allowed, and even fire it at a different target.

Tell me if you got any suggestions.

These rules were made due to game balance as well as logic, and coolness!

I think, besides the Icons for vehicles, that 2 of these should be removed. you have given Chaos LR the POTMS, under a different name, and also, ATSKNF, under a different name. Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield Termies too. In my opinion, this is simply C:SM under a different name. With nothing worse, only better, ie, Oblits, Marks, Icons, Daemon Princes.

Well, you cannot argue CSM are OP, can you?
First, logic. CSM are NOT more cowardly or more susceptible to being massacred than normal marines- the only real difference lies in loyalty.
Land Raider's machine spirits do not die because of it having turned to chaos- once again, shift in loyalty.
One cannot argue away the Daemon Mauls and Storm Shields either, for sure, some legions might not use them anymore, but many (most?) are traitor chapters; throwing away one's weapons seems illogical.
About the vehicle marks; sure, keep complaining if you want to, but i do not require you to use them. And no "OMG +1 armor on all sides is OP OMG OMG OMG" please. Check the points cost.
Any more complaints?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
One more thing. You argue that CSM have nothing worse, only better. Ever heard of the fact that you have at least twice the amount of special characters, you have upgrade characters, you have combat/chapter tactics, you have land speeders, scouts, Redeemers, Crusaders, Assault Cannons, multimeltas, and so on.....
And don't even bother to get me started on them non-codex chapters.... (blood angels, space wolves etc.)

Errm... ever heard of lysander? basically the same power but with higher strength and better invul. and Mr. Failbaddon will, unless he is on his own (not recommended) just get a load of LD tests, inevitably fail one and then get promenaded of the battlefield by... you guessed it.... a land speeder.
and that still leaves the rest of mine arguments. Remember that you have droppods. now THAT is an advantage.
And, of course, do you have any answers to my reasoning? or are you just afraid that if someone met you with these rules (ridicolously unlikely) and you accepted to fight them (even more unikely) you would no longer have a massive advantage with your land raiders?

You know how deadly they can be with Vulkan and a MM?

Also, not really a fan of the Nurgle Vehicle Icon, unless you specify you can not use it on a Land Raider.

Since there is no such thing as armor 15, and i think GW states this clearly in the rulebook (10 is max for a stat, except attacks that can be modified above that, and armor that can reach a maximum of 14) which makes it pretty clear that a mark of nurgle is worthless on LR. I should maybe make it choicible such as the others- any ideas for optional effects?
