I just started playing 40k and should go get my first purchase of Space Wolf stuff today and my question is this. Since they are a specific chapter are you allowed to change the color scheme of them? or if you wanna do that do you have to make it a successor chapter? but then wouldn't that make them not space wolves and I couldn't use their characters and rules? Sorry but ill say now I is noob lol

Paint them as you like. It doesnt matter if they look like the scheme on the box.

When the rich rage war it's the poor who die

Armies I have: Chaos Space Marines, Tau, Necrons, High Elves

Armies I want:Lizardmen, Warriors Of Chaos, Dark Eldar

Armies I may get: Dark Angels, Tomb Kings, Vampire Counts

This, if you want to be a purist paint them like the box, but you can paint them however you like, it is your army. You can even come up with a new paint scheme, a new name, and a new Chapter history and use the Space Wolves codex as your rules.

The Imperium of Man: White Scars - 1200, Raven Guard - 110 pts, Imperium - 550 pts
Tomb World: Nameless Dynasty - 270 pts

Actually what do you guys think about this as a color scheme?

Paint them however you like. Use the Space Wolf codex. Have them as a successor chapter if you want.

And if you like the orange/black armor, then paint away.

The Lamentors armor is yellow and they are a Blood Angles successor chapter. So color really doesn't matter.

Color is just up to personal taste. Im painting a pink blood angels army for my wife paint your wolves however you want and dont let anyone tell you its wrong. The lexicanum is a good place to get ideas for fluff if you want them to represent a different chapter and just use the space wolves codex.

Blood Ravens: 3500pts
Eldar: 950pts

I'm using a very similar color scheme for my marines. Still haven't decided what codex I am going to base the chapter on tho

Looks like flesh tearers, cool, black is hard to dd, surprisingly, if you are new to it, a 2 tone paint job is also more effort than a traditional single tone, but that would be neat looking, certainly unique! Good luck!

Thank you! I am actually getting a friend of mine who got good at painting to help me with them. He has painted 8 armies so far for him and others. Since they are gonna be based of Space Wolves I was thinking something like Space Reavers or something similar for the name

Thumbnail wasn't working for me - but the link works and looks good.

Getting clean orange on a black undercoat will be tough. Use lots of coats of thinned paint, and build the orange up, start a shade or two darker then you want to go and with each layer get lighter and lighter till it's where you want it.

Tomb World: Nameless Dynasty - 270 pts

Black and orange are both tricky colors to work with. I'd make sure I got a foundation for the orange.

I am actually changing it. The scheme will be as so and I choose the name as the Wolves of Geass.
