So i was curious and, using every model i have, made the biggest list i could. Lacking Apoc formations and useless additions i came out to 19,440pts. This made me think a couple of things. One: I have more Tyranids than I thought. Two: How big does an army have to be before it counts as being really BIG? Thoughts? Comments?

pts tyranids
???? pts Imperial Guard
750 points Grey Knight Inquisitors
2500 FleshTearers
2500 pts Space Wolfs
1500 pts Eldar

I'd say that 1,500pts is a normal finnished list, 3,000 is big and 5,000+ is massive, but this is for one army. Each army should be judged seperately.

Right behind you...

I think that 500p is very small, 750p is small, 1000p is average, 1500p is pretty big, 2000p is large, 3000p is vey big and that 4000+ is gargantuan.

There is only the Emperor, and he is our shield and protector.

I'd say that 1500 is about average: that's the normal game size down at my GW.

I think 4000-5000 is very big. It means you can field just about any conceivable army list with that given army. Much more than that is pretty crazy, but also awesome. 10k or 20k is goddamn ridiculous, but if it's all painted you have something to be proud of.

A big army is one that can field 2 apoc battle units, so 6k +

I have 6k points of eldar and i still cant put out a mech eldar and some of the other list types. But 1.3 k is like pheonix lords.
For OP i think any army with 3000+ points is big but until i see a titan or several baneblades no army is big enough .
