Before I start, all these miniatures have been painted for the most by bebops with only a little help from me.
Enclosed is My Deadnought, My Tactical Squad minus Sergeant (sadly unbased) and then The Whole Family.
I apologise about me not being able to put the pictures directly after the labels but I don't know how.

The base on the dread is a little plain. The bases on the tacticals don't seem to be done at all. Still some work to do I think. Btw this forum is only for completed models. Be sure to post them back here when you are finished!

Look great for first ones. Couple of tips, drill out your barrels. And a two tone color scheme looks clean but doesn't always look complete. Maybe add a third color in to give the paint job some more contrast.

Great job overall!

The dreadnaught looks very dirty, and that's probably just the black basecoat showing through.
Painting anything, not just miniatures really, looks better with multiple thin layers rather than one thick one.
However, the dirty look on it is great I think, looks like it's been through hell.

As for the marines, at the least I would just paint the base a solid black to cover up the paint splotches.
And those do get everywhere, it's just something to do after everything else is finished.

Did you paint the models with the bases on?
I usually put them on the base pretty close to last, or at least after all the body is painted and it's down to just the little stuff.
If it's better for you to hold them with the base on then that's probably best though.
What do other people do in this department?

I am currently basing the marines much like the dread.
I paint everything with the base on, it's the first thing I do after assembly.
