Only recently getting into warhammer with a group of my freinds, one of the things that intrested me most about the game were the eldar. There models were intresting looking, and there story was perfect for me. (I love highly psychic races, i play a psion in DnD). Any ways i decided to go with a arctic color scheme. None of my army is completely done and being new i could really use a few pointers to help me on my way.

btw.... im not following any particular color scheme. I made my own craft/exodite world. (still writing the fluff)

This is my army so far... I primed with white matt army painter. And the only color i really like so far are the guns.

I really like my wave serpent so far i think it is turning out good. But sadly today i put a dark blue in the vents leading into the engines and it just dosent look right so ill be returing that to white

Some of my guardians, the one withouht the helmet i still need to get some tan and brown paint for

I just really love my dire avengers, and any tips to make them look any more awesome would be appreciated

These guys are painted very cleanly and its clear you spent time on them. I think they should have some washes or should be drybrushed or something to give them more texture, but other than that they're good. Keep up the good painting!

I can't tell if it's the pictures or the models, but they seem to by lightly textured. This might just be a film grain I'm seeing in the picture but if your models seem to have a light sandy texture that can be caused by having the can of spray primer a little to far from the model.

The paint starts to dry in the air and you get that fine sandpaper texture.

Other than that (which I'm sure is just the way it photographed) you're off to a good start. If you gave them a light wash and maybe a couple of edge highlights they would really pop.

Probably a combination of both.

Not a lot you can do about it in Florida.
Short of using an airconditioned* AND vented spray room.

*The important bit, they suck the humidity out of the air.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

The wave serpent is looking particularly good, I am looking forward to the finished photos.

Thanks all!

Yea i did have the spray can a little to far from the model, and on one of the guardians i had it to close but i found a happy medium.

and around the edges of the armor i was planning on lining in with a light gray were the shadows would be to have the colors pop a little more but i still need a thiner brush to accomplish that.

Ugh, isn't that the truth. I can only prime in the middle of fall and spring. If I have to strip something in june, it's waiting till october for a prime.

They look good, but perhaps a bit flat. How about washing them?

I was thinking of a wash too. Perhaps a blue one to get into the armor details. That may look really cool!

Other than that, keep going and more pics please.

very awesome dood kept up the good work

But you should add more color differences (Just a tiny tiny bit) to bring out the details. Also like everyone else is saying use a wash and dry brush some stuff. Overall it looks awesome!

For all the slaaneshy's out there

Thanks for all the tips, today i am going to be buying some more paint for the details like the faces and spirit stones, ect.
And i have also been getting alot of help from Mahkoy, she is helping me make my washes. Yesterday i washed one of my DA with a mixture of foundation grey and ice blue, and that did not turn out so well. You can check it out on my gallary, today after a game or two i am going to wash with enchanted blue and a diffrent grey, so we will see how that goes!!

Why not just pick up a bottle of Asurman blue or maybe Badab Black?
