Apparently the rebels costructed what appears to be a Battlewagon to bash thru defenses. It comes with huge dozer blade, five manned heavy machine guns and a tank gun on top. Sorry I couldnt post pic , its under Bulldozer Battleship in the news.

There's not enough dakka for it to be a Battlewagon...

Nice! I see they went for the Reinforced Ram instead of the Deff-Rolla. Not a choice I would have made.

Does it count as Open-topped?

Heh, that was what I was thinking when I was seeing artillary pieces, and other stationary weapons stapled onto flat bed jeeps and vans a few months back when the main conflict was going on.

Quite ingenious really.

Pah! Every good Warboss knows that a battlewagon is for getting loads of boyz into crumpin' range quickly, not for shootin' fings....

Looks fantastic. That totally wouldn't blow up if you shot it with a couple rockets or and automatic weapon.

Actually, Technicals (the name of such warbuggys) have been around since the Mogadishu incident. usually it is just 50.s though, and what the HECK is that second thing? looks like a multi-melta, VMB, Heavy Flamer and all of the above.

It's a rocket pod usually attached underneath aircraft. I can't quite believe you could fire one off the back of a truck.

Even better, it's a pod for firing 57mm rockets from helicopters.

One of the more creative improvisations by the Libyans was coating an entire tank in sheepskin:

Not only does it provide a degree of camouflage in the desert, it also retains the tanks heat and screws with the thermal sensors on older Soviet-made Anti-Tank Missiles and tank targetting systems.

My father used to make mention of his time in vietnam, where when they had to jettison a 2.75 rocket pod from a helicopter or a pod was salvaged from a crash, the bad guys would hook a bunch of wires to the rocket engines, prop the thing up, and hook the other end of the wires to batteries and fire them off manually like some sort of orkish artillery.

I bet if they'd had pickup trucks they would've tried the same

I bet that if you could get the Somalis to understand the 40K Orks, and the comparison, they would probably not be offended. They did kick the U.S. military out of Somalia, after all, despite suffering casualties that would make anyone but Orks give up.
