My army really needed a seer council, but the eldar jetbikes are to expensive in my opinion.
Since i lack time for painting my models, i commissioned the project.

The idea was building a Seer council based on Dark Eldar Hellions, and make them look Eldar like.
The male heads are from High Elf White Lions and the Farseer head is a High Elf Dragon Rider head.

The total comission incl models/sculpting and painting costed me about 115 euro's while the models for jet bikes alone would have costed me 115 euro's as well.

Besides the price, i think they look awesome.
What do you guys think, and maybe i can inspire someone with this idea, for making a cheap, awesome looking farseer council.

I hope you can look trough the poor photo quality and please comment.

It looks pretty good overall, but not eldar at all IMHO

My concil on jetbike cost me about 50€ for 5 of them.
Used jetbikes can be fount for about 6€/each on ebay or forum.
For the rest i used bunch of bitz to customize them and the riders. The hardest part was to cut of the legs of my GP and to keep the cloack ^-^

50 for 5 = 100 for 10.

The models costed me 36 euro's for 10
Plus 14 euro's for the head bits.

So 50 euro's for 10 models.

The person who painted them asked the rest of the budget for the comission. 65 euro's.
Which seemed really fair to me.

I have to politely agree that those just look like helions, mostly because of the weapons. But the boards look so dark eldar without paint I'm sure its hard to successfully make them look eldar at all. Paint scheme in this case can't change the blatantly dark eldar parts. But they do look good. Maybe shave down some of the sharper edges and cut the guns of the front of the boards. Just try and hide anything dark eldarish. Prolly can't do it though now that there painted.

My only issue is with the direction of the flowing hair on the White Lion helmets. The direction of movement is not in the same direction as what would be suggested in the movement of the skyboards, so it seriously ruins the dynamics of the conversion imo. That, and they just still scream Dark Eldar to me.

Good paintjob though

Thanks for the comments
I have to agree a bit on you both.

Indeed there are methods to make the units look more Eldar-ish indeed.
But my budget was the real problem here.

I asked about 12 people for this comission and most of them asked 35-40 dollars or 20 euro's for each model.

The guy who painted them, told me he wanted to do them for 5 euro's a model.
The conversion on the heads and a small amount of green stuff was all i had within the budget.

The warglaives indeed look very Dark Eldar, but to me and my friends it doesnt really matter.
Besides i just really love the hellions.

about the heads i agree the wind angle looks a bit weird on the flowing hair.
But again these heads where a better option to me compared to Eldar guardian or Dire avenger heads.
Thats just a matter of opinion i think.

What i wanted to achieve with this comission is to offer an affordable option to create your own seer council.

Remember that if you would have painted this yourselves.
It would have been 36 euro's for the hellions and 14 for the heads. (with loads of spares.)
So 50 euro's.

And that was what is was all about.
