Tried some OSL ... opinions welcome thanx

Looks nice, but the lava seems a touch dull. May just be the pictures, but it looks more like mud/quicksand.

ye mate its my camera not picking the colours up as they are blazing orange, golden yellow and skull white .

Ah definitely bright enough in that case then.

Cracking work, love the lava bubbles you have. Ashame the camera isn't picking up the colour cause I know how it feels when you want to share something with people and it doesn't turn out quite how good it looks in reality!

definately buddy il try dif lighting 2mor perhaps use natural day light see if that helps the camera ... thanks for the comment matey

I just increased the saturation and used quite a lot of dodge on the lava.

Love the painting, but I'm wondering, and this may be my newbie perspective on OSL, but on the power weapons, to cast that much of a lighting onto the model, wouldnt you need a brighter origin point? It could be the photo, but the weapon looks the same as the reflection its casting.

I really like that base, very nicely done.

if you look at the thunder hammer on the original pic it is brighter at the very top of it compared to the armour.. plus im still new to this method as ive only been painting minis for a yr and a half but great question man...

Wow, only a year? Your doing awesome. I'm realllly new, couple months in, and no where near that good

I just wasnt sure if the top of the hammer would still project that type of shadow, maybe highlighting the bottem edges of the hammer with the white as well might make it seem as if the entire hammer is radiating that sort of power?

The minis look awesome. A tip of my head to you for your amazing OSL skills. I wished that my attempts of this technique would look half as good!

hey buddy thats a perfect start.. now you need to a shade lighter and work from the the top of the weapon the further you get from the the top the darker the effect will get so say at the top of the weapon you final highlight is skull white then further dwn use space wolf grey... dont forget to keep you paint super thin though as this effect is built up with lots of thin layers..
