I've seen sliced
GS balls used as rivets, as well. Honestly, the difficulty in maintaining uniform size and shape makes this method less than ideal. It's easy enough to come across small round beads, ball bearings, pin heads, etc. that countersinking near-perfectly round objects seems the obvious choice. I would only use this method if time were somehow a crucial factor and I couldn't source the parts
