Soo sleepy....

Expected the necrons to rise again, found none.
Camera-shy?

Maybe I shall step up and show mine to speed up the boot-sequence a bit.

IMO the new Necrons are highly over-rated. I went to my local GWS a couple of days ago and heard people asking "Why isn't anyone playing Crons yet?" along with others flicking through the new WD saying "These rules are insane!"

One of the store assistants also stated that "they're not entirely broken" which I found pretty funny, tbh.
I just feel like the new rules are cool, the new models are so-so.

I find it odd with the dual-kits also. I mean, where're my Rhino/Predator optional kits?
Or Tactical/Assault Squad optional kits?

I feel as if GW are trying to give a breath of life to something long dead (no pun intended... Oh wait, apparently the Necrons are sentient now. Opps).
Which brings me neatly to fluff.

What the hell, man?
I loved the old Cron fluff and always felt it was a huge shame that they found themselves sitting way back out on the side-line.
Making them aware and even capable of "trading with other races" as I've seen it been described is just grim, imo.

I feel that the new Crons rules and models are ultimately doomed to fail.
There's a reason I collect SM and have recently bought an IG kit to convert to Inquisitorial Storm Troopers. That reason is options.
Take your basic SM Tactical Marine.

He can have a shed-load of added bits, extra gear, heraldry and more.
Now take a basic Cron Warrior...

Erm... Yeah.

We'll see what happens over the next few months, but personally I think they should've focused on a SoB reboot, rather then just releasing some stupid WD codex that makes them a joke compared to the WH Codex that I own.

So the fluff change making some necrons actually capable of choosing their own gear and being individualized somehow makes it so you can't customize them as well?

How about you look at the new fluff before complaining? It's actually quite good, and a step in the right direction.

I actually like the Necron's becoming more sentient, adds a lot of character to a basically lifeless flat army. Even Nid's with their eat everything ally with no one approach had more depth lol. Seriously tho Trazyn has become my new favourite 40k character BECAUSE of the fluff written in this months WD battle report! As for being over powered it just seems the new way things are headed, look at the past 3 new codex's, they are all the same! something new must be planned ahead, i just hope the next Chaos codex is just as insane lol ^_^

...you do realize that you get bitz to make a Rhino in the Predator kit, right?

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

1) This is painting&modelling so if there is something about models and or paintscheme be welcome.
2) Could we please keep anything else about necrons in the other 1,2,3 threads ? Thanks.

BTW, the dual kit is the way to go if GW sticks with 5x model kits for bitz, to flesh out an army with bodies shouldn't follow that course.
Expensive units ( 20-40 pts per model ) do fine in boxes of 5. Most of the new necron kits are such units.

Your monolith looks awesome! What do you plan on basing your necrons with? I am still up in the air with my Eldar.

What's up with the pastel blue bases? They seem kinda odd, and they definitely clash with the colours on the minis themselves (which look pretty good from what I can see)

Did you know? The Reach belongs to the Forsworn.

Pastel blue?

Must be the photo. Its a shade of grey in reality.
Maybe not based in the sense of complete and well done, more like take a grey color and keep the options to do something nice later..
I'll alter them when the new models are built. Have to adapt the army to a theme according to the new background, which gives them a place to dwell and thus an environment to base the bases upon. Thougth I start a Necron thread as there wasn't any at the OP's date.

I like your classic Necron army, the classic 'legion' look. I heard people saying that they can use their Pariahs as Lychguard or Praetorians (one of them), planning on doing that since they are no longer a legal unit? Would be ashame to lose them (and those are Pariahs, right?).

I guess it's the camera, but I'd echo a previous poster on the colour of the bases as they seem to clash badly with the models. Maybe darkening them would help?

But good job on having a fully painted and based army! Always good to see!

Are Wraiths no longer a legal unit, by the way?

Pariah have the same problem as most old metal models, the new plastic ones are slightly bigger.
The Immortals are a bit smaller and their gun is shorter than the new plastic version.
So Pariah won't fit anymore in size and design if close to new units. Maybe converted to something else, like the suggested Praetorians.
Wraiths are surely legal and well liked at threads at Dakka. Mine are old ones and may be different since the codex artwork shows another
design closer to the new tomb-spyders. I still think the old wraiths look better..
Wouldn't like them finecasted tough.

You sure Wraiths are still a legal unit? I don't see them on GW's website.

Yes they are, they still have a place in the codex and their models are supposed to be released in wave 1.5 or 2.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

Thank God, I was afraid GW had removed them like they did with Pariahs. I always loved Wraith models. Hope they don't mess them up in the next wave.
