Not much to say really, so heres my Hive tyrant that I redid a while ago. I revamped the carapace as its previous paint job was very rushed in appearance. I shall be fixing all my tyranid's carapace this way

Thanks!

The goo coming out the vents disturbs me greatly.

But as a fellow Tyranid player, it is a good disturbed.

Not bad at all. Is it dipped for the general shading?

Shading in the skin areas? I primed the skin with vermin brown, went over it with Bleached bone and washed the entire model with Devlan Mud.

On a side note, the goo is actually an interesting PVC glue I bought some time ago, it dries like tree sap which makes good acidic drool, gun discharge and even (in this case) toxic miasma

I was thinking of changing the stranglethorn cannon for a pair of ST, thoughts on this?

As a fellow Tyranid player, I would suggest that you do go with the ST over the Barb Strangler. Most of the bugs are close combat so, so might be better to work around it. On top of that a HT has a WS of 8 and a BS of 3. Better to keep him in hand to hand. You can always give him a thorax swarm to put that extra umph in before you charge, but I personally would just run with him on the turns. Just my opinion.

Pain last only a minute.
It is the memory of pain that last a lifetime.
