Special Rules:
Anti-Air
Combined Might

Anti-Air:
All Weapons with this rule ignore flat out cover saves.

Combined Might:
If an Eagle Predator has both Hawkspear Sponsons available, they may choose to fire at a vehicular target within line of sight and range of both weapons. If both weapons are able to, the two weapons fire a single S10AP1 shot, at any target within normal range. Note that if one weapon is found to be out of range, its shot is wasted. The other may still fire as normal. [having been assumed to fire hawkspear missiles. ]

Wargear:
Autocannon

Options:
May take a salvo of Vulture missiles
20 points
May take sponson mounted Hawkspear missile launchers
70 points
May exchange Autocannon for a twin-linked Lascannon
45 points

Normal options for a predator otherwise, bar sponsons.

Vulture missile salvo:
Is a rack of 3 missiles. These missiles act as normal hunterkiller Missiles, but benefit from the Anti-Air Rule

Hawkspear missile launchers
Two firemodes:
Frag Missiles: S4•AP5•small blast, Heavy 2
Krak Missiles: S8•AP3•Heavy 2
Hawkspear missiles: S8•AP1•Heavy 1, Anti-air


This is the proposed model for this idea.

I think they should just ignore cover saves, the +1 strength will be unneccessarily powerful against the skimmers. You are taking away their main defence (the cover save), there is no need to add +1 strength. Apart from that, love it. I thought you could then make the Hawkspear S8 though, it's no better than a bloodstrike then.

Thanks for the advice on the Hawkspear missile, I'll make that change now.

I'm pretty happy with the model I'll make a how to on how I made the missile launchers.

Agreed. Simple, reasonable rules and a great conversion to match. I'd be happy to allow this, although my Command Barges might not like it quite as much!

It depends. Probably about +15ish points if it only has Skyfire and not interceptor, +25 to +30 if it gets both.
