Hey guys.
My friendly local Gaming Shop is finally starting a tournament. The rules are as follows:
600pt limit
0-1 HQ (can have 3 wounds)
1-3 Troops
0-1 Fast Attack
0-1 Elites
0-1 Heavy Support
Additional rules:
- no models with 2+ armor save
- no vehicles with total armor above 34 (front+side+back)
- no named characters
- battlefield is 48" x 48"
- forrests and rubble piles give 4+ cover save
- for MC's that cover is 5+
Game mode is selected by D6 roll as in 5th Ed Rulebook.
I've been thinking and came up with a list not relying on any transport, as in this tournament Necron vehicles are treated as NOT HAVING Quantum Shielding (as that would break one of mentioned rules).
So my basic idea is to have 2 strong troop squads that will be able to defend objectives and do some proper shooting at the same time:
HQ:
Necron Overlord (140 total)
- Phaeron (20)
- Rez Orb (30)
- Phase Sword
Cryptec, Harbinger of Destruction - (35 total)
Necron Lord (65 total)
- Rez Orb (30)
- Phase Sword
Troops:
10 x Necron Warriors (130)
10 x Necron Immortals (170)
- Tesla Carbines
Fast Attack:
3 x Tomb Blade (60)
- Twin Linked Tesla Carbines
Quick explanation:
- Phase Swords give the squad a power weapon in the event it gets assaulted (at least a little bit compensation for no real
CC ability)
- Overlord and Cryptec will go with Warriors giving them Relentless and a anti-armor weapon
- Lord will go with Immortals who are Assault 1
- Both units can move and shoot freely now
Now. There are two variations I'm considering:
1)
MC Aproach:
- replace Lord's Sword with Warscythe (+10) - Lord is now S7 killer...
- replace Tomb Blades with Canoptec Spyder (50 pts)
2) Marine Killer Aproach:
- replace both Rez Orbs and Tomb Blades with 3x Necron Destroyer (120 pts)
