That is somewhat impressive /understatement. That highlighting and OSL is something I would give my non-painting hand to achieve

Can you shoot a couple closeups on the OSL if you get the chance? It looks good.

Did you know? The Reach belongs to the Forsworn.

Lovin it so far. The OSL is fantastic and you edging is very dramatic and eye catching.

The edging is a bit blunt in the close ups though. Harsh. If you have time you might want to consider significantly thinning your paints (thinning medium and alcohol/windex if you have it, water and alcohol/windex if you don't) and using more strokes to apply the edging. It could just be the camera, but from your close ups it looks like you are doing your edges in 3 colors of 1-2 layers. Again, time consuming, but if you apply it in 10-20 thin layers it could have a very sharp, florescent look.

Thanks for the nice replies

Riplikash you are absolutely right in saying that doing so many thin layers would look better but man, you dont realize just how many edges this thing has until you start painting. These two layers (not counting the sporadic third one with pure scorpion green) took forever. Since it's not a golden daemon entry or anything, compromises had to be made!

Btw it was so depressing seeing this thing get shot up early in the game before it actually did anything (damn you GK psyflemen)

All I can say is that I am jealous of your painting. The highlighting makes my models look like a 3 year old painted them. Post any other models like that as I'd love to see some more.

Feel free to check out my gallery, there's an overlord and an annihilation barge in there. Working on a lychguard test model atm, and i should get around to taking pictures of the overlord that comes with the barge sometime soon. Glad you like it and seriously you just need to find a technique for edge highlighten that works for you. It really helps for me to do the edges by doing long strokes towards me

Do you mean the blue marble? Basically I painted it hawk turquoise, edge highlighted that area with ice blue, did some thin ice blue lines in random patterns on it and to finish it off I painted some even thinner white lines over some of the ice blue ones

How many layers of the hawk? 1? same for ice blue? Just trying to figure out because I really really like that and want to copy your excellent work on that one. Does it look better IRL(in real life) than in the pictures?

Thanks mate!

I'd say it looks about the same. I believe that it was two thin layers

Yeah, I can't say I blame you. It's still stunning. I've noticed a lot of people avoiding edging at all on that model. Still looks fantastic.
