so recently i starting putting 2 groups of 10 withes on the flank , while i had a group of 35 witches in the middle, i feel that the 2 small groups prevent small flank groups rushing up the sides , and protects my xbow alot more, thoughts? any one else had any succes with this?

I don't bother with the big unit anymore, instead I take 2x8. They work really well.

This came up elsewhere, maybe in the Armylist forum, and I voiced my support for them there. I think 10 is bigger than they need to be, but I think they have great value as chaff.
