While working on a Zoanthrope that doesn't look like a psychic foetus, I decided to test paint schemes for the force it will soon be joining. Colour was easy, but the methods by which I apply it have me in two minds. Here are some pics of two models following the scheme. The Lictor was predominantly drybrushed, with colours mixed on a wet palette before application, whereas the Ravener was wetbrushed and everything was mixed/blended directly from the pot onto the model while it was wet. Finally, the Lictors' chitin is pretty much all orange, and the Ravener has only a yellow/orange highlight on black.
Which looks best?

Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one? |

I must agree with fenrir1997. The Ravener scheme looks nicer.

It doesn't matter how bloody far the apple falls from the tree. If the apple fell off of a Granny Smith, that apple is going to grow into a Granny bloody Smith. The only difference is whether that apple grows in the shade of the tree it fell from. |

I agree with this.

Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee. |
