I am not a truly awesome painter so bear with me. Also first showcase post for me.
The "Heli-Pack Rough Riders" are simply that, a Rough Rider unit that instead of Horses or Bikes or some type of animal have been forced to use an insane helicopter-back pack system of transportation. the Heli-packs are not powerful enough to make them fly (They are NOT jump infantry, IG does not have any anyways), but the 'Packs are able to allow the trooper with full kit bound forwards at high speed in a controled manner. based on a German WW2 prototype that never got off the ground, the Heliofly 3/57.

They are kitted with Anti tank weapons all available to a Rough Rider squad. Even their bases are the same shape and size of a Rough Rider. So far have killed multiple Armor targets.
Built with spare troopers and a set of Space Marine back packs outfitted with a twin counter-rotating rotor assembly with a control projecting on the left of the pack for the trooper to control the backpack. put simply i had no access to proper Rough Riders so i made do.

Rotor blades built from 2 thin layers of plasticard. cut in a rough blade shape. with sprue reinforcement in places like the very top. center has 2 blades from a Spitfire model but I only had the 2 for him.

the mid-leap, trooper on the left is 2 plasticard disks. origional idea was to have 2 flying bases (like those of a Deff-Kopta) with dry brush rotors spinning. Didn't have any so i made do.

Always invisioned the Troopers coming down on a target with a boot to the tank commanders face and a shaped charge grenade thrown down the hatch followed by melta and plasma fire to the hull rear before taking off after another target.
