Here you can see the Thunderhawk I made back in the days (2001).

It was also a comission and a rela piece of work.

Total weight is about 8 Pounds, and to keep it from crumbling, I pinned every bit on all sides!
Plus, three parts were missing and not realy easy to get, right? I had to cast them myself, fortunatly the parts missing were of a set of at least two of the same kind.

It is a very impressive model and I am happy to had the chance to build it (without a manual or hint or anything...)

Yeah dude... Please for the love of your own safety dont drop it on your foot. I'm cringing just thinking about it.

The Thunderhawk itself looks grouse though. Good work on that. Do your remember how long it took you to build?

As much as the older ones are as butt-ugly compared to the newer resin ones, you have to take your hat off to anyone with one, well done on it, looks awesome.

the Mothership...

Very cool. I especially like the wall rack of circa 2001 paint pots also! Those were the only ones GW ever made that were any good and I still have a few that haven't dried out (yet EVERY paint pot that I bought since they dropped that design has!). Congrats on building that solid chunk of a metal model! As a side note, does anyone know of any metal kit that was larger than the limited release T-hawk? Its the largest metal model I can recall being made for the public.

It's always really fun to see old school models appear here. Be careful with the kinds of table you put it one though. My table is basicly two doors shoved together with felt on them, and they are only supported down the middle. If you put that on the side of a table like that, it might flip it.

Hey, thanks all for your replies and I am glad you ike it, even if the model and the pictures are 10 years old.

Back in 2001 there were pictures available, I am not sure if it was in the WD or just the internet, but this way I was able to puzzle out all the pieces to their right position.
I really didn't enjoy pinning, but I was soooo happy, when I was finished (and all the pins were in the correct position) and the T-Hawl could be carried around.

Unfortunatly, I don't know the number of this model, as it was a commission and he got it used from somewhere.

I will check if I still have the pictures I took during assambling.

It looks great! The only critique I have is none of the barrels are drilled out. If I put all that time into the pinning I would have drilled em out. Unless of course you were goin original with it and didn't want to, but it would have added that final touch I think. Other than that I do love those thunderhawks. Cool ass models! Great job!

@ Thare1774:
Yeah, you are totally right. If would it build today, I would definitely drill all the barrels out.

@yobnoog:
Sorry, but I didn't have one, when I assambled this one, and I don't have one today.
But I think that GW is lying if they say, they don't have any copies, or even a digital copy...

@yobnoog- Ya it seems to me they would have records like that on all models, OOP or not. I don't believe they just erase them from their records.

@Arrkon- just realised you built it years ago. At first I thought you had just revamped it recently and it was still in your possession.
