Hello Dakka! Long time lurker, even longer time 40k player, and lifetime scifi aficionado here finally joining the party. I'd like to take this moment to thank you all for inspiration, sweet ideas, advice, and all the various things that have made my modelling/painting/gaming just that much better!

I've been collecting and gaming (off and on) for many, many years... and I figured I would start by showcasing some of my favorite models of recent years. I've been on a "step up my game" binge lately, so I'm definitely willing to add and change things, so please do comment and critique to your heart's content.

EDIT: Please forgive the goofy layout, it's also been a long time since I've used any forum...

First is my vendetta, (actually the second one I painted, but the first one inspired this one, so is similar but less impressive).

Forgeworld thunderbolt, I got a little braver and tried a more complicated design. The top view is without flash.

That's all for now, thanks for looking and let me know what you think.

The Native American artwork is awesome, did you do that freehand?

HA! Yes, it is "Native American" in design (Google: Northwest Coast Art), and I did paint it freehand with many, many corrections and touch-ups. I took a college class all about this kind of artwork where we drew it in various stages; the thunderbolt design is copied from a wooden box, but the vendetta feather design is my own.

I've always liked the artwork, and after years of peeking at some of the amazing work shown here on dakka, it was the one thing I had never seen anyone do, so I figured there was something to be said for being unique.

Apologies about the photos, I just moved into this new apartment, and my real camera gear is still packed away... (though, I've never done product or miniature photography, any tips?)

Thanks for the comments!
