That is an older project and was only a conversion, I actually did not paint it. I have often wondered how it turned out though, the client never got back to me with painted pics :(
Thanks though for the feedback!

Here are a few more of the Robotech mini's...
Start of Vermillion Squadron with Rick Hunters VF-1J
And an alt color scheme for my Battlepods
I am not overly thrilled by the black-lining, I think it is too stark and not as clean as I wanted. Against my better judgement I did it by hand, I really should have used an oil wash. Going forward on the rest of Vermillion I am going to try and tone the color of the black down a bit, it may mean repainting Rick's VF, but that is cool.

So after talking to the mods I feel I am pretty safe in posting this.
Thanks for reading this, Long post…
First off, and as I mentioned on Facebook, thanks to the painting community here on the forums. I try to post often and I wish I could respond to everyone! The feedback you guys offer is great!
I have had an idea running around in my head for a while now. I love painting miniatures. My real passion though is teaching. I love it when I can share what I have learned about painting with someone who is interested in painting themselves. I have decided that teaching is the direction I want to push my paint studio toward.
I am working on a system to create custom painting tutorials. In summary the process is simple. You want to paint your army, you may or may not have an idea of what you want it to look like. You also feel like your skills aren’t up to the task. Through discussion between you and me we would develop your paint scheme and chose colors and supplies that you will need and discuss painting techniques you would like to use. Then you would send me a few miniatures from your army, and via a live video stream, I would paint those miniatures putting together all the thoughts we talked about. Color placement, paint application, priming, all those areas you are interested in will be demonstrated. While the streaming video would be public to anyone who wants to view it, only you will have access to me for the purposes of asking questions and demonstrating techniques. The video would then be made available to you for unlimited private or public viewing, you can always go back and look at it again when questions arise. You will also have the demo miniature that I painted to use as reference and guide. Think of it as a virtual painting classroom where you are the only student who can ask the teacher questions. Pretty cool huh!
The prices that I will be charging for these videos will range between $75 and $175 dollars. The type of technique you want demonstrated, size/complexity of the miniature and other details all go into influencing price. When compared to what actual commission rates are for getting an army painted, or for attending painting classes these prices for getting unlimited access to a custom tutorial and consulting are very reasonable.
Now we come to one of the reasons why I want to share this with you guys before I am ready to start running the videos. My startup cost for this is fairly low, I have a dollar amount in mind that will make this happen. This start up capitol would go toward upgrading to a better computer, to acquire video equipment and to take care of other expenses that would need to be addressed. I have been debating if I should go to GoFundMe or Kickstarter to find these funds. I am positive that there are those out there that I know and that you know that would be interested in being part of this. If I can find 10 to 15 people who are interested in getting a custom tutorial video, then this project goes live! I want to talk to them, I want to share this idea with them. If I can find the people that would like to have this done and who want to be the start of something new then these videos can happen.
If questions post them below, I would be really interested in hearing thoughts on this. Feel free to contact me directly at redmodeling@gmail.com or you can reach me through my Facebook page should you not wish to ask your question here.
Thanks for taking the time to read this guys. Regardless of what happens here, I will keep posting my work and keep sharing with you guys! Automatically Appended Next Post: Astroman wrote:Gorgeous stuff man! Really like your Privateer Press minis. They look like they stepped out of a painting.
Thanks man!
