Hey all,
I a few days I will be visiting with my family for the holidays. While I am out there, my brothers and I will be playing a doubles Fantasy game. We only get to see each other about once a year, so I am looking for tips on making the one or two games that we will play fun and memorable.
Games are going to be capped at 1000 pts per army so that we do not have to lug around a ton of models in our cars. (Some of us are driving 500 miles to get there).
Current army break downs are as follows;
Skaven (me) paired with Daemons against Dwarves and either Lizardmen or High Elves.
The Daemon player is bringing Bloodletters, Flamers, Flesh Hounds, Demonettes, and the mandatory Herald of Tzeentch (this may of may not end up in a unit of pink horrors. We have been having some difficulty so far in coordinating our lists.)
Dwarves will be playing some sort of gunline, think organ guns and cannons out the wazoo with units of thunderers and quarrelers. Probably some warriors, maybe miners also. Also a gyrocopter. (This is based on the models that I know he has, he may or may not bring these units).
If the last player rolls Lizards he will be bringing a stegadon (maybe 2) and CoC, saurus, and probably terradons and salamanders. If he rolls high elves he will have dragon princes, spears/bowmen, seagaurd and sword masters. Also a wizard of some level.
I can field most of the units in the Skaven book. Right now I am thinking of a Warlord on a bonebreaker as the general (armor of destiny, ogre blade, and 2+ flaiming ward.) He will be riding a 30 strong clanrat bus, back up by a pair of slave blocks. Then I am rounding out the party with some gutters, a warlock engineer lugging around the mandatory explosives, a bsb, and a hellpit abom.
So, any thoughts on lists to make the game more fun or interesting? Any ideas for scenarios that might be fun to play with these armies?
Also, while I am looking to have fun, I would also like to win. Any thoughts on how to up my chances, while not making the game stupid?
