Hey, I just finished the HQ choice for my Tau army. This is my first army, so I apologise for my painting skills; no where near the level of others on this site but I thought you might like to have a look at him anyway. It's a standard crisis suit with two conversions. One is a little loincloth/tabard made of green stuff, I'm relatively pleased with this considering it was my first use of green stuff but after I made it I found a lovely guide for tabards on line which I wish I had found sooner. Next time! The second conversion is a Tauish style battle hammer. I had a piece of fluff in my mind when designing this model in which the commander was previously on board a devilfish with his firewarrior unit before being shot down by Orks. Being the sole survivor with all his guns and ammunition destroyed I envisioned him rapidly crafting together a make-shift weapon to defend himself from the Ork assault. I took the stock and body of a Kroot rifle, attached it to the antenna of a devilfish, added a piece of landing gear to the end with a few jagged pieces on the flat side and voila.
