Hey guys,

So I got this new cool model of Malus on foot to assemble to paint and later to be included in my DE army.

Since it seems this model came out quite a while ago, does anybody know how to use it in 8th edition? Are there any special rules?

I am guessing here, if Malus on Spite is 275 points, and a cold one is worth 30 points, would Malus on foot cost 245 points?

Thanks for your answers.

Cheers,

A

I wasn't aware you could take Malus without Spite.

I think it's a package deal like with Morathi and Seraphat

Nope, Malus on foot was a German or French or somesuch Games Day model from the mid 2000's iirc. North Americans could get him as their WD subscription model for a couple of years. He's actually quite a limited edition model, so anyone who has him is quite lucky!

He has no practical use as the named character, since he cannot be fielded on foot. (you can never alter the options on SC's - they always come as printed in the army list and with the options listed there)
You can always use him as Malus on foot with your opponent's permission, or (more likely) as a generic dreadlord/master.

Okay, thanks.

But let's say I get my opponent's permission, how much points would in cost?

And, can I use him as a replacement miniature as for example if Spite gets killed?

I wonder which edition this mini was made for and if it was ever possible to use it on foot.

Cheers,

A

A Cold One mount for a hero costs 20pts,and Spite doesn't do much more than a normal Cold One. So maybe take 25pts off Malus?

IIRC, you can't kill Spite since he's a 1 wound mount. (all wounds are asumed to target Malus)

If you really *must* use him as "Malus on foot", then you will need your opponent's permision to do so. You CANNOT use him as "Malus on foot" in a tournament for example, because Malus has no option to dismount - he always has his faithful Spite with him!

There is no problem with using the model to represent a generic Master/Dreadlord on foot.

So except for being a limited edition there is actually no use for malus on foot, right?
Do you guys know for which edition it was made?

He does have a use.
If you ever assault a building, you can actually represent the charge wtih Malus on foot.

If you like the model then his purpose is served

There's really no reason why you couldn't use him as a foot hero, or even just as a champion- Lokhir Fellheart has been my Corsair champion for well over 200 games so far, purely because I adore the model.

Well, I have to say that the model is absolutely awesome. Probably one of the best ever made. The armour and the cloth wrapped around are just great.

Lokhir is another great example of how DE can be absolutely cool. The Kraken helmet is fantastic, also as it reminds me of Davy Jones.
