ok so im going to my local games workshop tomorrow and im due to have a game against the manager. hes using his hard as nails empire list and i want to give him a good thrashing some ideas would be welcome as hes been playing for like 30 years and i havent mush experience against empire.

my idea this far is as follows

Lord : - sheild - GW - swiftness - fury - bearers

28 Longbeards: - GW - Command

10 quarellers

cannon

grudge thrower: - master engineer


i know roughly his list has

2 captains (dont know exactly)

50 halbediers with 7 bowmen detachment

handgunners (dont know how many) with long rifle

hellblaster

and a lvl 2 wizard

im hoping that the old dwarf tactic of force him to get to me would work but idk
thoughts are more than welcome

I would not take the Dwarf Lord, I would take a Runesmith.

Something along these lines.

I'd second Grix, though I'd drop the the cheaper GT, fix the Cannon, drop a little anti-magic, give the General the Rune of Stone, and trade a pair of warriors for a pair of rangers to buy an Organ Gun:

33 Warriors, GW, FC (355)
12 Quarrelers, GW, Rangers (168)
1 Cannon, Rune of Forging (125)

Total: 1000pts exactly.

EDIT: If you don't have or like the Organ Gun, another option is 16 non-ranger GW Quarrelers +Mus/SB, 35 GW Warriors +FC, and Grix's Runesmith build)
