Hey everyone Thought I'd post up some pictures of the completed units from my IG army. Its FAIRLY DATED work but I have had both my shoulders reconstructed in the last 5 months and as a result haven't touched a model or a brush in almost 6 months (SHAME).I have hardly been on this site in this time either and I'm looking to get some motivation to complete my bulk lot of models and get the rest of my army to the tabletop early next year. This is my first Army and these are the first models I have completed and I would appreciate your C&C.I'm going for a gritty Urban theme for my models, their home world being a massive urban wasteland.Hope you like them and I look forward to your remarks.Hopefully you can convince me to jump back in the seat at my painting desk and crack on with it haha.cheers guys and gals

That is an awesome job of painting, I like especially how you were able to make every color coincide with eachother!

Yeah, impressive looking IG

The uniforms are very well done, however the rule of the Showcase forum is that completely finished models should be presented.

You'll have to finish the bases before posting the models in P&M Showcase.

In the mean time I will move your thread to the base P&M forum so you cna get more feedback.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Very nice, I especially like the sentinal, it would be cool to see some of the camo on the tank too. What's your plan for the bases?

Cheers mate.I just started with a white basecoat and kept my colours pretty
Watered down and applied them not too heavily. Then I just used a few badab black washes using it more heavily on the areas I wanted darker.Hope that makes sense and helps?

Cheers mate I'm pretty proud of the Sentinel I have another one I have primed that I need to finish too.I actually plan on putting the Camo onto all my tanks it should be fairly easy to add it onto my exterminator. Just going to do a charcoal colored basing sand on the infantry and maybe some rubble and stuff on the sentinels.

The camo is very nice, it blends well together but is distinct enough to see all the colors. Well done, i can't wait to see the finished version once they are based

I really like the sentinel camo. So much so that it makes the tank look a little flat to me. I would love to see you consider striping your tank as well. Out of curiosity, did your exterminator start out life as a Space Wolf tank by any chance?
Good looking army though, it's not always easy to make black and grey stand out.

Cheers mate, I chose the black and grey as more of a practical and realistic urban camouflage and luckily for me it just seemed to come together.I know what you mean about the tank looking flat I have been planning to camouflage it for quite a while now....I think ill do it right now and post up a picture when i'm done (thanks for the motivation ). Yes the russ did start life as some form of SM tank, I got it off ebay, Bright blue with a power armoured figure with scout arms hanging out of the top hatch and the badge on the turret that I couldn't remove haha.Ill post a picture of it how I received it when I post the new paintjob.

I thought so. That's a Space Wolf emblem. They can take that particular Russ varient. Fortunatly it's a pretty generic skull and crossbones so it can mean whatever you say it means. I feel honored to be a motivation and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product!

Looking considerably better, and it matches the sentinel now. Thanks for sharing! I will now rent myself out as a painting motivational speaker.

Shadow Grey on IG? Interesting choice but it works very well. For the metallic blue on the Sentinel, is that Chainmail/Milthril Silver washed with Asurmen Blue? What are you planning on doing for the bases?

Thankyou, I chose the shadow grey for something a little different and also to match some fluff I created about my armies history, I have a few stories on it in the fiction forum, still a WIP detailing how they came to be, but that's a bit OT.The blue on the sentinel us actually just a few watered down coats of shadow grey over a white basecoat with a badab black wash.It looks very blue and shiny in the photos but in person it's a lot closer to the photos if the guardsman at the top, may have to post pictures with different light.Maybe I'll ask you for some advice on metallic colours for my important pieces, commissars etc. as I have no idea haha

Looks good mate I'll have to pop over and have a look at your gallery.I love the way it looks on guardsman more than anything else.Shows up Very blue in photos though. As I think I said before my vehicles look a lot closer in color to my guardsman in person. What color basecoat do you use?

Black primer, mostly GW's Chaos Black spray primer, or Armory black primer. Then the Shadow gray over that. I have pics where the tanks look the right way as they do in person to an almost purplish blue depending on the lighting at the time of the photos. For folks who do not use shadow gray very much, it may look like nothing but a blue to them. I guess shadow gray would be "slate" or "slate grey/blue " in other painter lines. I have my scheme in the seeking out oddball tanks. First few pages I lost the pics and stopped using photo-bucket because of their weird limits and dropping pics

10/10 imo for the soldiers and 7/10 for the vehicles

The uniforms and faces are awesome I honestly don't see how you can make the soldiers better. On an artistic side the colors blend together very well and it looks awesome overall.

As for the vehicles maybe add some battle scaring to bring them to life

Wow mate, thank you, very flattering.I'm happy that you like my work so much. The basing is all I plan on doing with the infantry but after the feedback I have gotten for my vehicles I am going to do some battle damage, highlights and weathering. Thanks again mate.

Hey everyone, after the feedback regarding my vehicles missing some character I have decided to take the leap and attempt my first ever battle damage / wear and tear on my sentinel.I just added some simple chipped and worn paint to several of the corners and the feet and legs, and some battle damage to the drivers side door.I'm pretty happy with how it turned out but I'm sure it could be a lot better, but its only my first attempt so I have a lot of time to learn.Ill include some before pictures to help make the new look easier to see. Thanks for reading, as always C&C is greatly appreciated.
