Had a chance to try Warpath last week. We found the Forgefathers and Corporatin force lists to be pretty good representations of the Space Marines and Imperial Guard figures we used from my collection. In the final analyis we had a great time with this extremely streamalined 40k knock-off. Then I decided to get really wordy and write a review of the game and my impressions. You can see it here on the Chicago Skirmish Wargames blog.

Here's a few pics of the action.

I tried a new thing with overhead table shots a'la WD battle reports. The pics on the blog are clickable to give a better look at the battle layout.

Thanks,
They are mostly standard guardsmen with Pig Iron heads, though there are some other oddities in there like the toy artillery carriages for the lascannons.

Im worried about Mantic vehicles. For example, will they do the Heavy Dakkar for the Forgefathers and the Juggernaut for Marauders? Most of other miniature companies release good characters, but no big vehicles except GW.

I haven't a clue. I expect it will depend on how well the smaller vehicles sell over time. It's a pretty easy place for mantic to be because if they don't end up making them in-house, there's already some pretty clear analogues from GW and others.

Thanks,
I do agree that the corporation stuff looks pretty good. If I didn't already have a Guard army, I would strongly consider them.

As for the terrain, it all belongs to the shop, though our personal table when we play at my house isn't too bad if I do say so.

I really dont mind if Mantic makes vehicles with 8 parts and more as long as they are cheap and have good design.

Keep up the fight!
