Ok guys, I wrote this up while watching all three original star wars movies on blue ray tonight (its my new years tradition). So CC is definitely welcomed and appreciated.

Lvl 4 Sorcerer Lord, Charmed shield, talisman of preservation, infernal puppet, biting blade, Lore of shadow 360 (in MoT warrior unit)
Lvl 2 sorcerer, Mot, dispel scroll, talisman of protection, iron curse icon, 185 (in halberd unit)
Exalted on chaos steed, BSB, halberd, talisman of endurance, dragon helm, MoT 205 (in knight unit)

They have shields, I updated the list with some new thoughts and played with it a little. I think not having MoK is off set by there survivability and the presence of the exalted bsb in that unit.

Who will be babysitting the trolls? And I did not notice the BSB is going in the knights so yah keep MOT

The plan is for them to screen the warrior units and stay just ahead of the Sorcerer lord. The knights will be on the troll flank to allow a re-roll of a failed LD8 stupidity test. I am testing this list later today.

The only problem with the sorcerer lord is that its only ld8, even with the bsb near the trolls may get stupid, and i have found out that happens when you really need them

I would say keep the bsb on foot, knights with mok can handle them self.

The bsb would help incase your warrior units need to reroll their ld. That will also help keep the trolls actually doing something.

It seems like a bad idea to have that level 2 in with the halberd dudes. With just a 4/5+ save he's likely to get deaded when the frothers rush into combat, but he also robs the unit of 3 S5 attaks, replacing them with his piddly 2 S4 ones. I'd actually suggest keeping him in the tizz bunker until he pops out and solos - keep him within 3" of an infantry unit and he's got a 4+ LOS!, and then if you give him the golden eye he's also got a 4/3+ save after that. Sure somebody could slam him with a direct damage spell ... but if he's absorbing a gateway instead of your trolls or something, then all the better.

I would also accompany the sorcerer switch with some core corrections. Something like this:

Chaos Sorcerer - MoT, level 2, dispel scroll, golden eye = 190

50 Marauders - MoK, standard, musician, great weapons = 292
18 Warriors - MoK, banner of eternal flame, standard, musician, halberds, shields = 364

Sorcerer is as noted, tooled to roam around on his own as needed. The warriors were cut down to an ideal 6x3 formation and lost their champion, while the marauders were boosted up to a healthy and even 50 strong.

Some of this is aesthetics (I like even units), but it also sort of focuses those units on what they're there to do: marauders grind and die and win by attrition, kr0n warriors fly into combat and destroy, tizz sorcerer hovers about and casts at range, supporting the level 4 until one or both of them bites it.

I think Boos Salvage is right,
the 50 marauders work well so far i played 4 games with them using a simular list to yours, they hit hard a wear the toughest units down, on the down side they are a pain in the butt to make, and paint, the 18 warriors with mok are good idea however be careful of what they take on,
what ever you do keep the puppet, you can use it to help your own miscasts ( it saved my butt once already)
