Hello dakka, this will be my first battle report. It might take me a little bit to get it all written up and figure out how to get my pix from my fone to here but I thought I would start off by posting the lists used.

We aren't the most competitive players but both me and my opponent, Pat, thought these lists we came up with would fair well in tournament play.

First off my Blood Angels:

HQ:

Captain Tycho

ELITES:
10xSternguard
6combi meltas, Powerfist
Drop Pod, Locator Beacon

8xSternguard
5Combi Meltas, Powerfist
Drop Pod, Locator Beacon
(Sang priest and Tycho go here)

2xSanguinary Priests
One has Jump Pack, other is plain

TROOPS:
10xAssault Marines
2xMelta, Powerfist

10xAssault Marines
2xMelta, Powerfist

FAST ATTACK:
5xVanguard
w/ JPs, Powerfist

HEAVY SUPPORT:
5x Devastators
4xMissiles
Drop Pod

Pat's Necron List:
(I don't know the exact names of everything)

Necron Overlord (both have res orb, warscythe, and upgrade to make squad relentless)
Royal Court, 2xCrypteks w/ Edric Lance and maybe something else not sure

Necron Overlord
Royal Court, 2xCrypteks w/ Edric Lance

15 Necron Warriors

15 Necron Warriors

4 Wraiths

Tomb Stalker (both armed with the str7 shot and the gun that if it hits makes subsequent firing at target twinlinked)

Tomb Stalker

Doomsday Arc

Doomsday Arc

So here are the lists. If I made a mistake on my opponents list I'll have him review it. The mission was Capture and Control and the Deployment is Pitched Battle. The pictures and completed report should be up soon!

I'm a latin bro, so my slampiece cooks me quesadillas.

I think the Necrons will have this. The Angel list isn't that good, like why are Devs in a Drop Pod? They have a 48" range and if they deep strike in then they cannot fire. Btw the Triarch Stalker can only have one gun, and no one is really going to swap the heat ray for the other two choices .

Looking forward to the report.

The drop pod will remain empty and in reserves to contest later in the game, the Devs will deploy normally. The pod was mostly bought for the ability to bring in the other 2 on turn one, with the HQ and troops inside them.

I'm not the OP, but that's what i see when i read over the list.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

Contesting a objective with a Drop Pod is a bad idea and waste of points. It can be auto hit in assault, so any unit will just walk up to it and take it out - easy. Also with it coming down second turn the opponent has majority of game to take it out while it is sitting on that objective, not hard. A bad tactic.

Triarch Stalkers are badass for taking out light armour and transports, don't even have to be in melta range most the times.

"The gun that if it hits makes subsequent firing at target twin-linked" is whatever weapon it has, not just the heat ray.

@Mercer: Especially if equipped with Twin-Linked Heavy Gauss Cannons.
