Your might want to help your friend with his pricing. Alot of those sales, you can go to your FLGS and buy it today for maybe $2-3 more, some of them are actually MORE expensive than retail after shipping.

You're right. There's more to it.

He's a hoarder. And, part of the therapy is to get rid of things piecemeal - boxing them up, seeing them disappear - rather than just dumping them at the FLGS. There is really some rare stuff here and will be more of it coming up, so it's less about money.

first, I don't buy the story - second, if you really want to get rid of the stuff, do $0.99 starting price auctions. at those prices, it'll be sitting there forever. And there's nothing rare or hard to find there, so I don't know why you mentioned that twice.

This strikes me more as a store that went bust and now someone is trying to sell off all the stock...

I'm pretty sure what quickfuze was getting at is that the buy-it-now prices for a lot of this stuff is so close to retail that you're probably going to have trouble selling it off.

The Eldar Harlequins, for example, would be $36.75 after shipping, but they retail for $35.50 on the GW website. That's hardly "garage sale bargains" (as the auction page puts it).

Just some friendly advice from someone else who sales things on eBay a bit: Keep in mind you have to pay a listing fee whether the item goes or not, so if you put up a bunch of things at high-end prices and have to relist them multiple times, you'll actually be making less money than if you just started the price lower to begin with.

Good luck with the auctions though.
