As an Ultramarine player for over 15 years, I have finally started working on my Ultramar Guard army. I have only found a few threads and pics on the internet, so I wanted to share my progress to anyone who's interested. Over the next 6 months i'll be putting together a 1500 point force.

So does anyone have any ideas, tips or suggestions on how to make my guard army really stand out and shine? I've read all the ultramarine books so I know they wear the blue armor. I just finished my first infantry squad and they look pretty swell. They blend right in with my Ultramarines (It is really cool to see). I want to put the ultramarines "U" decal on their shoulder guards but the standard marine decals are too large. I do have some decals from forge world that are a bit smaller and do fit, but does anyone else have a suggestion for the shoulderguard "U" besides drawing it freehand?

In addition to buying many, many troops, I'm planning on grabbing some chimeras, russ', a vaylkrie, storm troopers and sentinels. I also have 10 ratlings. Suggestions for other units? I don't really play Apocalypse, but I would love to have a baneblade someday. And when the hell are they gonna make a new Thunderhawk for Emperor's sake!?

Pictures?

As far as Omega symbols go, if you don't want to freehand I'd suggest getting the pens to do it with (Micron, I believe?). They come in many colors, as far as I recall.

As a fellow Son of Macragge id love to see some of your work when you get it on the net, I have always fancied doing a PDF force for a planet in the Ultramar system myself. So it would be great to see the direction you go.

I discovered these recently and they rock for doing squad markings and writing on scroll work. I would love to see some pics of your work on this.

What does the Exalted option do? No bloody idea but it sounds good.

Having seen the beginnings of Red's guard army in person, I can say with some authority that they look pretty freaking great.

Got some help with the free hand "U" from a SM player off Bolter and Chainsword. This technique will be perfected as soon as I wake up tomorrow

excellent work, now... tanks?

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Valkyries for sure, but that's gonna be a while. Next step is a battleforce. I'm sure after that I'll start on some armor.
