I have been flitting from one project to another for years and after some canvassing the decision of which project to complete first has been decided for me.

My first project to complete this year is my Raven Guard started in honour of my daughter Raven.

I wanted to see what could be done with a purely infantry based space marine army. The idea being that this Raven Guard Shadow force inserts itself far from an objective and approaches with a level of stealth that you just can not achieve with vehicles.

And so to the pics of them so far:

Subscribed, these look very cool! How do you do the white?

GW colours: 2-3 Thin(ish) layers of fortress grey or codex grey depending on whether the area is in shadow or not then 3-4 layers of thin skull white fading from lighter areas do darker.

I also have two brushes and a water pot just for doing white so that I don't get any colour bleed.

It sure looks good your way, but id suggest using astronomican grey; its a foundation paint and saves you quite some layers of paint!

The last couple of evenings work:

I wanted a more bio-mechanical look to the narthecium on my apothecary. I also didn't want to have a model sitting idol if I'm not running a command squad so I have magnetized the narthecium and a power fist arm.

Great looking stuff so far. The painted assault vets are great, nice crisp colours, very befitting for a marine army.

Apothecary is very promising. My on suggestion would be to trim up the buttons at the wrist part ( the ones that are sticking up) as they look a little rounded at the edges. Apart from that, very cool model!

Today's update on my Raven Guard with bonus IG swampies.

I also finished these two as I found some Green Stuff at the bottom of the bits box.

I like the camo suits on those IG! They should look nice painted up.

Those ravens are looking very nice!

So far tonight I have completed a blackreach termie.

After looking through a load of P&M threads I got inspired to work on the SoB super heavy last night and before I knoew the time was 2am. Damn those daylight bulbs but at least I don't get S.A.D..

I'll post the pics of what I got done once the kids are in safely tucked up in bed.

I too was tempted to do Ravenguard by Shadowforce Dragomir, but decided on my Imperial fist inspired 'Diatribors' instead, couldnt bring myself to not DIY. Bit of a fluff dabbler me.

Very nice painting here, couldnt help but feel theres a teensy bit too much white though. Solid work on the Greenstuffing, i have mainly been using it to fill gaps atm (been chopping up many a marine arm lol) so its good to see some scratch-work. Might i suggest a bit more kitbashing? I have had great results combining the forgeworld Marine kits with regular ones. Funnily enough the sternguard marine you pictured was an inspiration for one of these two.

You'll see a mix of bashing and scratching on my Lascannon Sternguard vets.

I'm still lurking in the background, looking forward to those lascannon guys.

Very Nice miniatures, Kayvann Shrike is a brilliant character and I love running him for fleet Assault Marines and Assault Termies.

I was attracted by the Butterfly effect title, i was expecting a "Snotling sneeze's and on the otherside of the planet a Thuderhawk crashes" type reference. Found this instead, quite pleased I clicked now!
