This occurred in a game over the weekend I won the roll and elected to put my 15 Peasant Bowmen with Brazier (stupid peasants) in a watchtower....in this situation what happens to their defensive stakes

My first impulse is to say they loose them but the way stakes are worded you are deployed with them. I dont think you can have a piece of terrian in another piece of terrain but I really do not know.

Yeah that's the issue we had while gaming we decided not to deploy them although after the game carried on debating the issue to no avail.

All we could think is that they're deployed in base contact with the tower which would make assaulting the tower more difficult

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

You could claim a run of stakes on the front edge of the watchtower. However people would feel they have the right to ask why you bother.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Well I felt that the defended obstacle (fence) would aid my only viable unit of winning the game survive, also would make me take one less cannonball
