i got friends playing this game. i really know nothing about this game. i want to create a 35pt army. this is what i have so far.
pCaine pStryker pHaley pNemo Siege and a journeyman warcaster.
arlan stangeways. a defender, ironclad, two chargers, a lancer and a sentinel.
if i go with pCaine as my WC, what else do you guys recommend i get. I've heard the Black 13th Strike Team is good.

If you know nothing of the game try sticking with just warcasters/warjacks at 15 points for a bit until you get the hang of it. The game scales way better than gw games so 15 point games have a much better feel than 500 points in 40k.
Find out what you feel your lacking or what you want from a unit before you buy anything else. You probably will end up with the black 13th but beyond them it could easily be a matter of taste.

This is really true, all of those casters have different play styles and you'll want to figure out what works for you before buying units.

If you start with pCaine then be sure to bring anti-armor Warjacks. Caine can handle most infantry, at a distance, but is very weak against jacks. So the Defender and Ironclad are must haves. Both are quite good at turning enemy jacks into trash pretty fast. Support them with Strangewayes. He's very useful because he can do so many things when he activates that can really enhance your Warjacks. You can even marshal the Sentinel to him.
Black 13 is a good unit, but each model has its own special rules. Not really the best choice when you are still trying to remember if it's better to boost an attack or buy another one with a certain type of weapon or target.
I'd suggest adding a unit of melee infantry before buying anything else. One nice thing with Cygnar is that you can choose any of the knights and have a good unit. Just pick based on the the rule of cool for the first unit. And always pick up the Command Unit Attachment.

Agreed. pCaine with Ol' Rowdy - a focus efficient heavy beatstick jack. Combine that with a Journeyman and a Hunter.
