ok,

So I am a big fan of the fan made inquisitor movie (http://www.thelordinquisitor.com/ and wanted to posit the following questioon to you dakkites:

I came across this picture of the Inquisitor's BattleBarge and I want to somewhat reconstruct it

I already got the top somewhat figured out, but its the bottom thats alluding me. My question is: what ship(s) is attached to the bottom of that BB?

http://3dcgac.wordpress.com/

here is his sub site with other wonderful 3d images if it helps you decide

EDIT:
more pics - take a look here http://3dcgac.wordpress.com/#wpcom-carousel-323 and here http://3dcgac.wordpress.com/#wpcom-carousel-319

his last version is this: http://3dcgac.wordpress.com/#wpcom-carousel-338
but I kinda like that "Sword" ship front

Maybe its a GW strike cruiser with a Dauntless Ship head

or maybe 1/2 imperial cruiser http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat490024a&prodId=prod1101833 (the have with head and gun batteries, then the back half is part strike cruiser.... part some long thing....

Neat looking ship...this is the first I've seen of it.

As for the lower part of the ship, it looks to me like the profile is based on the prow from the plastic IN cruiser. The weapons battery behind it is definitely based on the IN plastic weapons battery, with its distinctive quad square barrels. Aft of that, it looks to be a mish-mash of parts from the IN cruisers and light cruisers.

Speaking of which, the "light cruiser" shown in the size comparison is way too small...it is right around the size for an escort, though. In fact, the ship pictured looks more like a frigate than a cruiser to me .

When you say Cruiser, can you be more specific of which one. I was comparing my friends IG cruiser and my battlebarge and it seemed that the cruiser was too big to be placed under the battle barge... unless it is cut up to the extreme???

Fluff point: IG does not equal IN .

But yest, that is the cruiser I am talking of. Obviously, the whole thing wasn't stuck onto the bottom in one piece, but I think that is the ship it most resembles.

The Light Cruiser size is not to small. It is the size the community used for light cruisers before FFG released Rogue Trader.

The sizes where:
escorts 800-1200metres
light cruiser ~ 2000metres
cruiser ~ 3000-3500 metres
battleship ~ 5000 metres

The ship underneath in above picture is a mash up.

Eh, it still looks small to me compared to the barge, assuming that the barge is about the same size as the official GW models. Then again, I prefer to believe that all of the models are more or less in scale with each other, which I also know isn't necessarily true . One other thing that throws me off about the CL pictured above is that it is proportioned more like an escort than a cruiser; I would have expected it to be longer and more spindly.

The Cruiser on the bottom is probably an Inquisition Cruiser(they are often custom made)

The "Light Cruiser" is probably just that, a light cruiser. Dauntlesses are quite abit smaller then your standard IN Cruiser. 2 kilometers or thereabout is fairly acurate, Escorts are around 1 kilometer depending on the exact class.

Hi Ruckdog,

the Barge is a special barge, it is 10km long... Not 5 like I mention or 8 as FFG would do.

Ah, I didnt realize that. Confusingly, it is shaped very much like the official one, although that is not an uncommon issue with sci-FI spaceships:

Damn...

So I might do a slight take on this then... thankfully the top part (the main port and starboard batteries) are easier to figure out - its basically 2 battlebarge batteries and then the imperial cruisers gun batteries on the top half and their launch bays on the bot (basically half the launch bays cut horizontally). the cool thing in the prow of the ship is either the bot piece of the battlebarge (where the ship is placed... he just moved it over) or the cool deep strike piece that comes with a terminator box placed upside down.

What size do you think the head of the bot-ship is in the GW products - Imp. Cruiser sized prow or something smaller?

I will start working on it and hopefully have a pic up soon wish me luck

The prow of the bottom ship looks closer to a plastic IN cruiser than anything else, but it is smaller. You might be able to make a reasonable approximation by cutting down the prow of one.
