Here is a linked to a Tau Empire codex, which jackhammer at ATT brought to my attention.

There are two PDF files, the first, a force selection chart, with point values, unit structures and weapon options.

The second is a Summary Data Sheet, showing all the weapon and unit profiles.

Personally I believe this to be either completely fake, or a very early playtest codex. It has some very interesting rules and new weapons. A completely new codex if this is even remotely real, not just another Copy-Paste. Discuss away my friends.

Snuffle.

How many different types of "stealth" teams do they need.... ?

And Kroot, only 4 points.... As much as the leaked 6th ed rules seem believable this seems like a fandex. IMHO

I call fake.

I believe the 6th ed slip is a real document. I believe this is not. Call it a gut-check feeling but that is how i perceive these.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

Come on, this one doesn't even have the right font.

Also no Rail type, so it's incompatible with the rulebook "leak"

IMHO I think it is a fandex too. Everything in this seems silly. Everything. Special Characters giving all weapons +1 Strength and all flamers twin-linked. No fast attack, 350 point, 36 transport tank.

It seems questionable, but I'm still reading. It seems unlikely that they would have included the fluffy introductory text for something that would need to be very early in testing to look like this.

Also, "for the good of the many"? I wonder if maybe there's a more iconic way for the tau to say that. hmm

I was just about to point out that the fonts just aren't GWish at all. But it wouldn't surprise me if it was still real.. all this leaking lately just makes me think GW is doing it on purpose to pretend it's leaked when they're just using us interweb addicts to build a buzz.

That is a lot of units and an absurd number of grenade types. Isn't this supposed to be phil kelly? He's way more elegant than that.

I misread this at first and thought the Tau had to be accompanied by Black Box and other faded "music" artistes from yesteryear.

What is the purpose of half of these units? Why are there 5 flavors of human with no significant difference? Why are there 5 versions of everything?

Yeah, not only is it a fandex, it's a crappy fandex.

Compare these 'leaks' (psh) to the omnibus that is the playtest 6th edition leak document and you'll find so many glaring differences it's astounding.

6th edition has many changes that will take it in a different direction than 5th was (in a good way) but the way the document is written and put together you can tell it has GW validity in it and has been through playtesting to a degree already (what we will end up with in July will be more refined than this, however, which is also a good thing). This tau stuff is just a bunch of wish-listing that has no congruency whatsoever with the direction GW has been taking their codices in. Also it's not a full document - if it were real it would have all the fluff and background descriptions for each unit as well as codex art.

FAKE.

Who ever made this was clearly less talented than the author of the 6th edition. It also shows that's not so easy to make mere two pages look authentic save for a whole rulebook.

To even claim that this crap is a leak is insulting to all of us. Seriously? Suits made of anti-psy materials? That didn't tell you anything as to the validity of this?

Also the Summary Data Sheet is obviously the work of a total nut. come on...

Next time you find something this outlandish, please apply some common sense before spreading it over the web, so that others have to waste time looking at it.

I think it's best for everyone if we put this one out of it's misery to rest now, it would seem unlikely in the extreme that this is genuine.

If it is though, I for one cannot wait for the excitement of seeing Admiral Kor O Vanan DSing in and dropping 2d6 5" s10 AP1 blasts on the enemy.

TAKE THAT GREY KNIGHTS !
