Hello, just joined, used to play in the Rogue Trader days, and have got back into it all about 5 years ago. I hardly play, but I do enjoy the modelling and painting, when I get the time. I've got orks, and Space Wolves, none of which are finished, , but a lot are "almost finished". After seeing a few cool SW dreadnoughts on here I thought I'd contribute my take on Bjorn The Fell Handed. He started off as a AOBR dred. I'm particularly pleased with the assault cannon, and his claws which are made out of the SW terminator axes. It's not finished yet, but you get the idea.

Thanks

Stinky

Not sure how I feel about the streaky armor, but those are some fine ideas behind your conversions! Also, for oyur base, try another drybrush in a lighter grey, then even lighter in Bleached Bone.

I forgot to mention the armour, I saw it done at a local gaming event, and I thought it really worked, it gives them that worn and weathered look I was after, but I can appreciate it's a love it or hate it style, and it kills brushes too! I will eventually add another highlight to the base aswell as some snow for the first time.

I found that a good cheap way to make good, powdery snow is to simply use watered down white glue and pile on Baking soda!

Hello again. Here is my attempt at Thunderwolf, I did think about going down the Juggernaut route, but it suddenly occurred to me that a rhinox body would offer a good, and hairy, alternative. This is my first attempt, the rider looks like he's doing the splits, and I need to add a chain under the belly for the saddle. I now have a plastic rhinox from the new scraplauncher kit, so that will be my next attempt.

Morning Dakka, now I've started the blog, I've got a bit of impetus to get things "finished" . With that in mind I'm painting up a unit of Long Fangs, of which I thought I'd post up the first two that are nearing completion with their "stripy" armour. Also in this post is my take on a razorback, but one with a Space Wolf blasting away with two heavy bolters, instead of a turret, proper heroic, . C and C welcome.

I've been thinking of what to use to denote the Long Fangs, (other than their massive cannons!! ), whilst flicking through the Space Wolves codex I came across a great emblem shown on the kneecap of a Long Fang, what do you think?

A little update. Thought the heroic razorback needed a little something, but wasn't sure what, until I saw the ogre kingdoms stonehorn, (I think!). This sheild is just perfect imho, what with the knot work, and slightly "worn" appearance. On a different note can anyone give me advice on painting yellow, I always get a lovely base coat using the foundation paints, but when I come to add the next layer, with normal GW paints it all goes streaky, help!

C & C welcome
