Hello to all, just a quick question. The currently used Dark Angels Codex is an edition behind that of the Space Marines (I believe) and thus lacks to option of some unit types (specifically Thunderfire Cannons and Land Raider Redeemers) while relegating Scouts to an Elites choice. My question is this - is this just an oversight created by an out of date book, or is it a way to balance some units available only to the Unforgiven? This would also mean that Tactical Squads are the only type of Troops I would be able to field. Any clarification in this matter would help, as it will allow me to finish up my Army List and provide me with something else to post (as well as getting some advice).

It's an oversight, as the DA book is about 3-4 years older than the current SM one. You cannot take Thunderfires and Redeemers in your Dark Angels army on the basis that it's older.

Thanks I appreciate it. That was my suspicion but I figured there would be some with some more experience here. Is there any talk on when an updated DA book will be coming out?

Nothing planned yet, but it doesn't mean it's not competitive.
