- What is the best way to use regular Night Goblin hand-to-hand regiments (numbers, formation and equipment)?
I run 60 man units with netters and spears. I start them 10 wide, 6 deep unless I have to tarpit, then after the first round of combat I reform to 5 wide and make the unit not move until I can hammer it with somthing with some teeth.
I also run a 20 man unit with shortbows with full command to use as a bunker behind my lines for my general,
BSB and buffing caster to hide in.
Not saying these are the best, just what I have a tendency to run
atm. All weapon options are viable, sizes vary on what you want them to do.
- Is one Spear Chukka enough or would more be necessary?
No, I would say 4. 1 is inaccurate and can break, 4 are inaccurate and can break but there will be 4 of them.
- How do regular Trolls fare against enemy core choices?
Trolls are one of the best hording units to crush things. Just use regular trolls, stone and river arn't really worth it. Just keep near your bunker /
BSB and general
- Are Squig herds an effective unit or are they too unreliable?
Squig heards are a very effective unt, the amount of attacks these can throw down for so little is ungodly but they are glass cannons.
- Which provides better support for regular Gobbos, Shamans or Big Bosses?
Both. I run a
lvl 4 Night Goblin Great Shaman (trying to get all the buffs and debuffs and no damage spells) and 2
lvl 1s Night Goblin Shaman for whatever is left.
You need a Goblin (if going for all goblin, night goblin is going theme) warboss for
LD, a night goblin big boss is great for
BSB (add banner of disipline for
LD boost if in the same unit as general) and I also run 2 night goblin big bosses with
GW in each night goblin unit,; they are cheap and are worth their weight in gold in the frail units.
- Is Skarsnik a good choice for a Lord choice, or is he too costly in points for what he does?
I think he may be costly but fun to play with, he (like all goblin generals, if he is going to be your general) needs to stay out of combat for as long as possible.
