i don't know, and I don't think we will ever know, if GW answered every question, the game would not be as fun, or allow as much creativity. So for the sake of selling product, I don't think we will find out from them.
Don't feel discouraged to ask though.
I think they would probably all look different any way. The STC to produce a baneblade is not going to be at all like the one for a Mr. Coffee coffee maker.

Basically, it's a micro-fac. That is to say, it's a 3-dimensional printer/forge/lathe/circuit-burner/chip-imprinter that can produce anything you feed into its cogitator bank.
If you have one, you simply plug in an STC template and press the green "Go" button. The machine then builds whatever it was you told it to build. Rhino. Leman Russ. Lasgun. Water Chip. Atmospheric processor. Vapor collector. Whatever.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised. |

The best mention I have seen is in the first gaunt's ghost book, but it may have been designed differently because it was tainted by chaos

In dark machanicum it describes the STC as having built a titan. Suggesting that STC's are perfect as they build using logic of a machine making something fully efficient or at least some of them.
No STC's discovered are complete.
I think an STC is a computer code, rather like a word file except much more complex.

I think STC's are machines that the mechanicus copy after they find one, otherwise if there were a single stc for rhino's, then nearly no space marine chapter would have rhino's.
