I've now added a Hydra Gun Turret to my ersatz Imperial Guard APC. The turret comes from a New Ray toy missile turret mount. The round dish in front of turret is a Lego piece, and the rivets were added from plastic rod.

I cut the ammo drums off two of the auto-cannons and re-mounted them on the opposite side of the guns for symmetry sake.

I like it! looks pretty damn good.
How tall is it compaired to a Chimera hull? That'd be my only concern. Are you making a squadron?

Thanks. It's pretty close. I have plans to make another one. It's labor intensive to build, but it only costs a fraction
of a Forge world kit or a GW IG chassis with a Aegis AC mount.

That is really well put together and painted! Very good job! How long did it take you to freehand the camo?

That is nice looking. Nothing like seeing different varients of the Hydra.

About 30-45 minutes. I first sprayed it with a coat of reddish-brown primer, and painted the camo pattern with Catachan green and Badab black. I then dry-brushed and detailed edges with Deneb Stone. Vomit brown was dry-brushed on the armor skirts and fenders to represent dust/mud.

Good work, I love the way you did the turrets.

Working on it, I have a 1000 Point force almost done. Just need to paint the Leman Russ, an Earthshaker, and half-dozen more troops to round it out..

Love them and love the colour scheme. Camo often looks muddy and too form-obscuring (which is great in real camo, but not on minis).

They remind me of Advanced Wars.

Agreed, TiB - the paintjob strikes a good balance between realism and simplicity/visual impact. I'm more impressed by the build, though!
