Hey guys! Thanks for taking a look.
I'm well aware of what units in the Lizardmen book work well in 8e (Slann, Salamanders etc) but for now I am after c&c for the models I currently have, perhaps better suggestions for wargear and tactics (this being my first fantasy army).
No points limit on this list, but we usually play 2000-3000 points games.

Lords
Oldblood-light armour, shield, piranha blade, glyph necklace, ruby ring of ruin- 251 (Runs with the TG, ring provides that little bit more ranged oomph)

Heroes
Skink Chief on Stegadon- light armour, shield, javelin, Warspear- 352 (Anvil for the Cold ones)
Skink Priest- Lvl 2, Dispel scroll, plaque of topek-140 (With Skirmishers, harassing and nuking warmachines/monsters)

Core
Saurus warriorsx20- Full command-250 (March up 5x4)
Saurus warriorsx20- Full command-250

Skink Skirmishersx12- Blowpipes-84 (Harassing and nuking warmachines/monsters)
Skink Skirmishersx12- Blowpipes-84

Jungle Swarmsx4-180 (Distraction/ harrassment? Really I just think they're something unexpected)
Jungle Swarmsx4-180

Special
Cold One Cavalryx8- Full command-320 (Hammers)
Cold One Cavalryx8- Full command-320

Temple Guardx20 - Full command w/ Chotec Standard & Blood statuette- 420 (Anvil)

I'll be mostly up against Skaven & Daemons, but I'm trying to avoid the Lizardmen anti-Skaven items atm as he is a new player to our group and I don't want to thrash him too hard
So yea, any c&c would be greatly appreciated

First off how many points is this list supposed to be, I get 2831 which makes very little sense? 2000 and 2400 are probably the most common levels for tournaments, but even in casual games I would expect to be played at a level divisible by 4. You need to know the points limit before you start making your list, since it defines how much core you need and how many points you can use in other areas.

That said, this list needs a heap of work, you have missed a big chunk of the best Lizardmen units and picked some of the weakest, and its missing some of the things which any army needs to function properly at these kinds of points levels (notably magic). At the moment you have no way to deal with magic heavy armies, no war machine hunters, limited mobility and almost no chaff type units which let you control the battlefield (which stop you getting run over by Deathstars or outflanked by MSU).

An Oldblood is fine, particularly if this is 2400pts+, but you really should have a Slann at this level unless you are running a very focused specialised build. Magic is incredibly powerful and the Slann is one of the most cost effective casters in the game. At 3000pts I would take him just for the +4 to dispel, otherwise you will get blown off the board by magic heavy lists. Taking a Slann would mean you could drop the Ruby Ring and upgrade the Oldblood to a 4+ ward, otherwise he is solid.

I'm really not a fan of putting characters on monstrous mounts, since its too easy for them to get sniped off the top. Monsters are already vulnerable enough in this edition without putting characters who don't really improve the monster on top tbh.

The Priest is fine as a Scroll caddy, but you really need a Slann as a proper caster at this level, you don't have anywhere near the threat level you would need to do a a magic free list.

Saurus are solid, but you really want to run 6 wide to maximise your attacks rather than 5 wide. This means units of 18, 24 (most common) or 30.

Tbh I would never both taking more than 10 Skink Skirmishers in a unit, they are always going to be expendable distraction/screening/diverting/harassing type units so just keep them 10 strong and take another unit if you have the points.

Special characters aside Jungle Swarms are easily the worst unit in the book. They can't really do anything effectively since they are so insanely easy to kill, they go last against pretty much everything and have to be lucky to inflict a wound on anything. They can't tarpit or delay people effectively since they will always be losing combat by heaps and then dying due to the Swarm rule. The only potential use I can see for them is as 45pt drops to control deployment and as redirectors, but the thing is for 25-30 more points you can actually get an effective unit which can still perform those duties. You have 320pts tied up here which won't achieve anything.

Cold One Cav are decent, but as all Cavalry has taken a bit of a hit in 8th and they aren't particularly great Cav in general they require a bit of work to use effectively. Their main use imo is as a delivery system for Scar Vets and/or Oldbloods (possibly even multiple characters) which you can combined with Lore of Beasts to get some fun combos going. 8 is also a fairly strange number, its too wide if you are in a single rank, but not big enough to get a rank bonus if you go 5 or 6 wide (6 is ideal, as with Saurus you want the attacks). They don't really hit hard enough to be a hammer unit without some support.

Temple Guard are really not worth it unless you are also taking a Slann, you waste half their abilities (including all the ones which actually make them a good Anvil unit) and end up with more expensive S5 Saurus.

My suggestions; drop the Swarms, tidy up the Saurus and Skinks, focus the Cold Ones, get 3 x 5 Chameleons and a Slann and your list will be in a much better position. It will likely still need some work, but at least it will have most of the core stuff you need in a competitive Fantasy list.

From looking at the list I think this is straight from a couple of battalions sets with a few bits added. As already been said far to many points wasted on swarms. I can go without the slann but would have a better save on the general. Perhaps stick ring on a scar vet. Skinks should only be ten after that you lose manuverabillity of them. Add couple of camo skinks for better hunting. Maybe another Steg as support for the hero one. As a side note I'd drop his armour can't increase more than Howdah and once on foot his useless. I've been toying with skink hero on terradon. Maybe worth having a poke at that as a redirect
