Hey guys,

I am working on my WOC army and wanted to go with a dark rock look for my bases that kinda gave the idea of the army walking across a wasteland, I wanted like bits of dead looking wood to set on the bases and just some small rocks to base with.

So any links or tutorial you all may know of please throw my way because as much as I have looked I have found nothing of real substance. Also anywhere you know where I can buy rock basing material for cheap that is of good quality would also do me wonders!

Thanks for any help!

Go to an office supply store, or that department at a walmart.

Get corkboard, they sell it for cheap in packs. Use snips to chop it up, if you want it thicker, just glue pieces together.

Once you have it looking kinda like you want it, paint it black. Be sure to get in every nook and cranny.

Next step, drybrush with a dark grey. Then again, a lighter coat wit a lighter grey, then just hit the edges with white.
You can play with it to get the shade you want. Also, for wood pieces...well, cork IS a kind of wood and you have those snips...

Is how I did the rocks in this...

Well you could try getting some sticks from the woods and burn them and use the charcoal as "wasteland wood". You propably have to spray paint them first before sticking them to the base.

I think going for really dark base would look boring so adding some brigter static grass would help a lot while still looking wasteland -ish.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

Good tips so far. I am not in any means to give advice. Am cruising looking for base tips as well.

I like the fallout idea, I am just unsure what colors of grass I would use and I need to find a place to buy the Dark Rocks for the basing...Not a huge Cork board fan, Had a lot of bad luck with it..
