Im new to BFG and i want to start a 500pt imperial fleet.
What i was thinking was something like this

Lunar cruiser

6 swords and 3 firestorms divided two swords to one firestorm each squadron. all help would be nice :-)

Heya,

you have yourselves a fluffy start there.

I wouldn't mix the Firestorms & Swords, just keep them as seperate squadrons. Let all Swords benefit from the fact that they can stay abeam when firing their weaponry.

If you go up to 1000pts it is time to build your cruiser core, including a carrier.

Welcome! I pretty much agree with what Horizon said. While I do like to mix my Swords and Firestorms at times, it is usually at higher points levels when I am running larger escort squadrons. I think going with 3 unmixed squadrons of 3 each is probably best.

Okay, so on the lower levels keep the frigates separated. should i drop the firestorms for a cruiser though? i just know very little about BFG but i know enough that a large amount of frigates anywhere can cause a problem on the flanks of bigger ships. but the base of fire is entirely necessary.
