Special - 20x Miners - F.C +Steam Drill
Special - 1x cannon - 3x crew including 1 engineer + rune of reloading
Special - 1x cannon - 3x crew.

This comes to 2000pts

All you dwarfen vets can guide me in which way to go with this list. Decided to keep it simple, with a mix of shooting and c/c.
Still havn't played a game of WHFB yet or explored the dwarfen book fully which explains the simple nature of this.

Thanks in advance folks.

Atm, Thunderers arn't very good, 14 points for a str 4 armour peircer at 24 inches is meh, your better off with Quarrallers, 4 points cheap and 30 range (- the armour piercing). HW+Shield Dwarfs are "ok" at best, sure they may last long, but they wont hurt a puppy...(I have a block of 35 in 2400 point games to cover a weak flank. GW warriors are IMO the second best option we have in our book. 10 points for str 5, T4, WS 4 is a very good deal. Cannons are good, but two of them isn't really needed unless your facing an army with lots of monsters. Here I'll type up a list for you (mainly cause I like doing lists), now I dont have my book on me so this is going to come off the top of my head.

Lords:
Runelord, shield, MR of Balance (This MR is a punch in the face to any caster heavy army), R of Spellbreaking, R of the Furnace, Rune of Stone-228

Heroes:
Thane, GW, MR of Challenge (This really screws with oppenents lines if you use it right), R of Fire, R Stone-106
Thane, BSB, R of Resistance, MR of Gromril, R of the Furnace-135

Core:
29 Warriors, GW's, Full Command-315
29 Warriors, GW's, Full Command-315
20 Ranger Quarallers, GW, Musician (These are kickass, there a range unit that can supply a punch when needed, and can cover weak flanks or strengthen one as well)-265

Special:
25 Hammerers, Full Command, MR of Grugni (Very good for missle fire, so there's no point for shields on anyone, be sure to stick them in the middle with ur BSB attached to them)-368
Cannon-R of Forging (Which is a must), R of Burning (For hydra and equivalance killing), Engineer (also a must IMO)-155

Organ Gun-120 (Good covering flanks but has a way of blowing it self up frequenley)

2007pts. But I'm sure no one will mind if your seven points over in freindly games. I also know you may not have all these models and may not have the money to dive right into it. But thats what proxies are for!

When you get into higher points games like 2400-3000, look into a gyrocopter (good at pretty much pissing people off ;D) and a grudge thrower or two (which are really good against horde armies). Dragons slayers are also useful for charge blocking and flank blocking
