Hey guys, before I start buying more models to build on the cygnar starter, I was wondering which is more efficient? Basicly I was either going to go with Warjacks laying down some heavy fire and advance/counter charge with my infantry or vice versa. Also which warcasters are bewtter for which build? Thanks for the help guys.

If you're running a gunline w/ countercharging, then
-rangers are basically a must, for passive accuracy boost
-defenders are strong ranged and pretty good in melee (though you still might want a melee heavy)
-personally, I find Trencher Commandos work well as a decent ranged element that can mix it up in melee well
-gunmages provide a lot of flexibility, and black 13th do so with style, though you probably only want one of the two

Casters:
-Siege makes everything hit harder
-Caine can murder infantry or assassinate, depending on which version of him you play, and does decent support
-Kraye makes your jacks run more flexibly and has a good ranged game
-either Haley can make your army shoot more before the enemy gets to you

...those are the obvious choices that come to mind

So is it grenerally accepted that infantry are better used for shooting than warjacks? I like the storm sword and guard models alot. Thanks for the info though, it helps a lot.

Well think of it like this...most Cygnar casters throw around some buffs/upkeeps every turn...making them focus hogs so trying to do most of your shooting with expensive jacks is not ideal.

If you want a focus efficient shooting jack pick up a Cyclone; it doesn't need focus at all to be effective.

In the end it will depend on your local meta and how warjack heavy it is.

I'd generally cap out at 2-3 ranged warjacks, depending.

For instance, an example of about the most I'll use: my Siege list has:
1 charger (usually gets 1 focus a turn, can get 3 if siege is well protected and has nothing to do with his)
1 defender (1-2 focus depending on what it needs, runs melee if necessary)
1 grenadier (gets extra shots from trenchers, is attached to the journeyman to alleviate focus strain: typically 2 boosted hits or 2 boosted damages, depending on the targets)

If you do the math, there really aren't that many casters that run a lot of warjacks well (most run them decently, or run 1-2 very well)

If you really want to run ranged warjacks, and a lot of them, Kraye is about the only way to do it well, but he's a finesse caster, so not a great starter

Both Nemos can do all jacks very well.
