I question the effectiveness of the doomsday ark, (is it worth the points?) but against swarms its awesome.

In my games it has indeed been worth the points.

The monolith is your friend against tyranids, your only real threat will be a trygon. I'd say maybe take something out and fit a second monolith if you can.

Also do you really want to be taking the nids on in combat, that's their specialty not ours. I'd drop the d-lord and wraiths in favour of some firepower.

It might not be our specialty, but it will happen eventually and I'd rather it be on my terms.

Your D lord and wraiths will chew up pretty much whatever they tangle with. Those shacke scarabs will have much fun with his monstrous creatures as they slash themselves to bug stew.

I don't think the res orb is worth it on the D-Lord, the Wraiths don't have reanimation protocols so you're paying all those extra points just to benefit a single model.

I would also take a look at your heavy support. You have three single unit types which the opponent can target prioritise what to do take. The Annihilation Barge is easiest the best out of those.

what would you suggest instead of the orb?
I only have the one a barge.

The list should stomp out some bugs without too much trouble in my opinion, but your wraiths can only take 1 upgrade per model (I'm at work so I don'r have my Dex but I'm pretty sure thats how it works), so if I'm reading your list correctly you'll have to drop a whip coil or caster. I'd drop all the casters and take 3 whip coils if I knew I was playing nids. Besides that its a great anti-bug list, If your could find the points I'd drop the Barge and take a second Monolith or Ark, but if you dont have the models then this list should still put up one hell of a fight.

I will say that I haven't played a lot of games against Nids with my Crons(2) but both times I had very little trouble with them. Both times I used very different list and smoked them, neither list used CC units but I think the Wraiths should have no trouble with them. I'm not a fan of the Liches, Termie cost and not nearly as good, IMO

Just a couple of things that I would do:

1) I would drop the Res rob on the Destroyer lord, and swap out all other equipment on the Wraiths for a full unit of Whip coils and drop the Doomsday Ark and both Warrior squads to make them into 6 Wraiths, Tyranids should have a hard time, especially when striking last in what they excel at.

2) Use the leftover points to make the squad of 7 Immortals into 10 and add another squad of 10, more Tesla Immortals, the more Tesla the better.

3) Drop the Lychguard for a Stalker, that heat ray and twin linked will cause a lot of pain for Tyranids when combined with re-rollable Tesla fire.

4) Drop the Tomb blades for another Monolith, they will serve you much better than Blades, plus you dont exactly want to get close to Tyranids really, except with the Wraiths and the Destroyer Lord.

5) Never used a C'tan before myself, so I cant say that its a good or a bad choice, but I would replace Moulder of worlds for Gaze of death, perfect for enemy Monstrous creatures, any returned wounds healed for the next wave of combat.

6) Add an Overlord on CCB with a Warscythe and a court of 3 Tremorteks to go with the C'tan, that'll be nasty for most anything hit by the Tremortecks.

Hope this helps,

Calv

I would invest those points into other units instead.

Well dawn of war can be your friend because of worldscape. If 12inch sides just advance gun lines up the middle. Lord and wraith friends plus doom blades from either flank as well as lychguard , barge and Cy'tan from the other flank. At that point put the monolith, and ark where ever their needed. if its corners then castle and work from there.

You will do fine in holding objectives with 4 troops. Annihilation will be fine as well the fire power in the list is good. If the opponent feeds you their army then focus fire. If they don't then start eyeballing assault distances and asking what stuff does if you already don't know it sucks to find out a unit had furious charge that was right next to the one you just crippled. Don't be afraid to feed them a unit so you can get a better shot or slow them down sum. In capture the monolith is your friend its a lot riskier but it is one mean drop pod.

I hope that helps in some way and good luck also make sure to read the new Necron faq in case you haven't

Ahhhh, strategic help and a confidence booster in one post. I like it.
I may sound stupid asking this, but what does it mean to castle?

Castle means group all your units together and stay in a static position.

Their very good at it. Just make sure to spread your army well if they have drop pods so as to not give them a obvious landing zone.
