Over the years many really old citadel cases and the odd ebayed newer ones have sufficed for me along with a lot of foam and cardboard boxes for miniature storage. However since having to put a lot of stuff into storage decided to get round to getting some KR cases by the summer, and hoping to save enough for the trolley style metal cabinet by the end of the year. I was wondering though with the huge range of trays available which would be right for me.
For infantry was wondering how people have found the M4H or M4T trays for GW stuff as this would give me a great amount of storage for the size of the KR cardboard cases compared to storage to space ratio that I have now. Or should I go for the next capacity down for any reason? I'll probably end up storing armies I'm using first, so it will (hopefully) be getting used for transporting around models as well if I find somewhere decent to play in London. And also for cavalry (this will be marauder horsemen with flails and chaos knights) is a cavalry specific tray best or just an infantry case with 2 sections merged together and the model stored on its side?

I'm not sure I can see the need for those giant metal case unless to are transporting an apocalypse army or are fighting Waterloo regularly. A 2000 point force will easily fit in two cases with room to spare.

I have about 4 card cases and one metal case and swap the trays in the card case in to the metal as required. It's the best storage system space wise. I also have their double backpack but haven't used it yet.

I'll even stick my neck out and say you will be fine even with just card cases. In London on the tube/buses, card will be okay as well.

The standard KR trays suit GW infantry perfectly. That said if you have spears or Ogres then this may well not apply.

Not quite the same but I have one with FoW models in it and I rather foolishly order the wrong tray and didn't have space for my large tanks. 10 minutes with a sharp knife and a hot glue gun solved that. That said the people at KR know the hobby and models and are best suited to offer advice on the right trays. They are also thoroughly nice, which helps.

The main reason for the 6 case cabinet is storage, mainly due to having to store most of what was in a flat I rented in a 5' by 5' area I rent now . The metal case will ensure if anything in storage does tumble then nothing is damaged, or that an army or two takes up a small amount ofroom overall. Was looking into the backpack with space for 2 card cases and some extra card cases for now. Gives me more storage straight off and I prefer carting stuff around in a backpack.
Would you say the 200 infantry set of tray or the 160 would be standard size for a load of eldar and and chaos warriors?

I'd go for the bigger capacity if storage is as much of an issue as you indicate. Obviously the difference will be in the thickness of the foam edges and dividing walls, so maybe it's a question of capacity versus protection.

I've got 160 trays so can't really comment on the 200 but I don't expect the models would be any less safe.

Cool, if anyone can give any insight into the 200 figure per case tray set it'd be appreciated to help me make sure that for eldar and WoC stuff they'll be safe, not too cramped, clipping each other in the case etc.
Toss up between the M and N trays at the moment still
