So I decided that I can't have a khorne Daemon army without a bloodthirster but I didin't like any of my available options.

Finecast bloodthirster - too small and but-ugly (and not in a good deamon-y way)
Forgeworld bloodthirster - awesome model, but entirely too big to be practical
Balrog conversion - seems to be the most commonly done, which is why I wanted to avoid it

So I decided to make my own... which I might be starting to regret at this point lol. But here's what I have so far. I still need to do up a left arm, add some wings, and then general tidying up of my atrocious greenstuff work (to hopefully at least bring it up to the level of horrible)

Now that is an original conversion.

My only issue with it is the gigantic head combined with the otherwise thin limbs. If you bulked up the legs, and maybe the chest, I think it could look better. But I digress, I really like the conversion, the head is ideal for a khornate daemon.

I think it's a great concept, but do agree with ghosty.

Is there a way you bulk him up a bit?

Reminds me a bit of this guy!

Where is the head from?

Looks good, the only thing I find odd is the skinny legs, but I think it is the larger head which is weird.

Thanks for all the replies, the head is the stonehorn kit, body and right arm is a soulgrinder, legs are ghorgon kit. I wish the head was just a little smaller, but it's such a cool bestial ragey head that I wanted to use it for a bloodthirster head from the moment I saw it. I'm hoping once he other arm and wings are attached it'll help

His body looks way too thin to be able to support his head, legs especially.

With respect. Quoting the whole showcase is not the best idea. I hope I'm not sounding annoying and officious but I thought I'd just note.

OP: I love the extremity of the kit. Personally I don't think it needs bulking up at all but a few armour plates might look pretty cool.

I like it, he kind of reminds me of Angron the World Eaters Primarch. Can't wait to see him painted.

Thanks again for all the comments. I'll keep this thread updated with my progress and I'm really looking forward to the day that I can ruin it with paint!

Got the left arm done (which was amazingly painful but turned out better than I expected considering how bad I am at sculpting). It's about the size I wanted which makes the right arm look even shorter so I think I'm going to have to do some more cutting and puttying to match them up. I also broke the axe a bit when when working on the left arm. Since I need to do the right arm again anyway I might try and see if I can put a larger haft on the axe, it just seems a little stubby to me.

I put it beside my Daemon Prince for scale purposes

I think I might take my previous comment back. Looking at it head on... I'm imagining it with it's mouth closed... it's not too disproportionate. Maybe if you remove the bottom set of tusks on his jaw it's help streamline the head?

I'm in the process of trimming back the length of the horns and repositioning them a bit which I think is helping balance it out. If it still looks a little big once everything's done then I'll look at possibly losing the bottom tusks

Very well done I am impressed

So if the opposite of Pro is Con, Would that mean Congress is the opposite of Progress?

I would be glad to support Australia's PM, once we figured out who last's long enough.
