I have heard that the next Codex GW will Publish is Codex: Dark Angels (6th edition rules) and that the Brothers in Green will be included in the next boxed set (along with Some Chaos Fallen). With This in mind, I have been Assembling a Deathwing Army (this will be my 3rd Dark Angels Army. The List I used follows:
Belial with TH/SS
4x Deathwing squads with Sgt (PW and SB) 3x SB/PF, and 1 AC/PF
1 Deathwing Squad with LC/LC
1 Deathwing Squad with 1x LC/LC 3x TH/SS, and 1 HF/CF

I assembled a Tau army with
ShasO FB/PR and Multitracker (MT)
2 Bodyguards with FB/PR and MT
2 Battlesuit squads with 3 FB/PR/MT
1 Stealth Team 1 FB/2 BC
2 FireWarrior Squads of 12
1 Piranha with FB
3 Broadsides with Smart Missiles
2 Hammerheads with Smart Missiles, and Rail guns.

There was some horrible shooting on both sides, but at the end of turn 6 the Tau were wiped out save for 1 Hammerhead and the Piranha. Deathwing losses were 3 Squads (2 Wiped out 1 below Half). The Deathwing help the Objective in the Tau DZ.
Deathwing Assault was One Squad on the Objective, which really only served to get Belial back there to begin CC Mayhem (the rest of the squad was wiped out). However by Turn 4 the other Deep Strikers had arrived, and 2 other Squads made it across the board. Note Battle Suits cant take Assault Cannon Pummeling, especially not when mixed with a good amount of Storm Bolter fire. Nor can Terminators take the Fusion and Plasma Rifle hit (although I made numerous 5++ saves. Belial may not be Darnath Lysander or Arjac Rockfist, but he was pretty awesome, eating the Broadsides and Killing a Hammerhead. His 3++ is amazing.
I need to try this Deathwing list against a Horde Army next, And then against Blood Angels.

The tau list is over weight and in need of better wargear. For a better match up try:

Shas'el, FB/PR/Target Array hwMT. Against Deathwing PFists being an 'O with 4 wounds is not going to make a difference when pounded by that PFist. Plus, 'El's with TA have the same BS for less points.

Demote to regular elites, like your two trios.

Starheart wrote:1 Stealth Team 1 FB/2 BC
Stealths are best as an all BC unit. The FB screws up their purpose, safety range and cost effectiveness. Target Arrays are helpful. But, really, to trim fat, cut the unit out entirely. IF you wanna keep 'em, then disregard the above recommendation for the Bodyguards.

Starheart wrote:2 FireWarrior Squads of 12
Break into four units of 6 since you don't have D'fish to keep 'em safe. Put two in Reserve for late game objective grabs. Hide the other two in LoS-blocking terrain.

Starheart wrote:3 Broadsides with Smart Missiles
Add Team Leader, 2 Shield Drones and A.s.s. or Target Array, depending on how much LoS-blocking terrain you have.

Starheart wrote:2 Hammerheads with Smart Missiles, and Rail guns.
Add MTs to Move & Shoot like a Fast Vehicle, and Dsipods, always.

XV8s can't put up with much of anything. They're two wound MEqs. IF you want a better match up, the suits could have MPs, and gain range over Storm Bolters and Assault Cannons , for a couple turns anyway.
