Im a fairly new to 40K and have been searching online for an answer to this question but havent had much luck. If you are coming in from reserve and come out on your table edge with a unit of say 10 troops, does entire unit have to be on the table edge and then finish movement or can one model be placed and moved its aloted 6 inches and then the next and next and so forth?

I am attempting to apply to the same question to the DE webaway portal since it is supossed to count as a table edge. If it counts as the table edge does the entire unit arrive and then move or can they move one at a time?

Hopefully my questions are clear, lol

Thanks for any help in advance

For future refernce, rules questions normally go in the YMDC sub forum.

For this question, see the main rulebook, page 94. Although bear in mind that the unit still has to stay in unit coherency.

Sorry missed that forum bc General Discussion caught my eye.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Arriving from Reserve
When a reserve unit arrives, it must move onto the
table from the controlling player’s own table edge
(unless it’s Deep Striking, Scouting or Infiltrating).

Is this what you are referring too?

It's not really a problem. Don't worry about

I only quoted the page of the book in which the rule can be found because I'm not really suppossed to quote the rule itself. I hope you won't take at as me just being awkward.

Simply, when arriving from reserve without deep strike or outflank, the entire unit moves on the board using it's normal movement distance from the board edge, but remember to keep the unit in coherency as you do so, so spreading them out as individuals across the board .

Hope this helps

So if someone wanted to bring 1 unit of 20 troops with 40mm bases through a webway all could simply walk through one at a time as long as they are within coherency? I guess Im still not clear on the rule, lol.

Im asking bc I have a friend that has made a tourny list using webway and beastmasters coming through it and wasnt sure if it would be legal or not bc the unit arrives at the same time.? I dunno, Im prob making this harder than it is.

They all have to walk on at the same time in order to maintain coherency but yes.
